what was your FIRST handgun?

WOW! Great thread.
My first handgun was a Ruger P-94 in 9mm.
If I remember correctly it was the first one to arrive at our local gun store, or at least thats what I was told.
Bought for me by my Mom. She went to our LGS and asked for the newest must have handgun cause I was turning 21 and she was told to get me a Ruger P-94 cause they had just come out.

Still have the Ruger, unfortunately I lost my Mom a couple of months after she gave it to me.

Ruger single six with a 9' barrel. Bought it in the 1970's. Still have it and it shoots just as good as when new. I was thinking of sending it to Ruger this year and getting it re-blued. I also need a new 22 mag cylinder for it as I lost that years ago.

My first was a Beretta NEOS .22LR. it was about 10 months ago and the bug of shooting handguns has bitten me. I now have added 4 9mm, 2 .40S&W, and 2 .45's. If I keep this up I'll never be able to retire...

High Standard H-D Military that my Grandfather gave me when I was about 15 or so. That's 50 years ago, and I still shoot the old "treasure" often.

The first one I bought, S&W Mod. 10 4" HB. In the late 60's, early 70's for.......$86.50! Again, one of my regular shooters.

HK USP Compact in 9mm bought on my 21st birthday and yep, still got it today. Actually, it's still my favorite handgun I've owned and currently using it as my duty (security officer, ie. rent-o-cop) gun. It's one I'll NEVER get rid of. ;)

I had the use of my Dad's handguns while growing up. After I got out of the Army, the first one I bought for myself was a Browning BDA .45, in 1980. I still have it, its not going anywhere.

Since then, it has aquired some 40-50 stablemates overthe years.

Mine was a Ruger stainless security six with a six inch barrel back in 1975. Still have it and shoot it in the winter when I can't look for the brass from my auto loaders in the snow.

Mine was an XD9. I had a friend who was going through the academy and he told me about a good deal on them. I really knew nothing about them but I figured if he thought they were good...

Well I went down and got it for my 21st B-day. After shooting and owning multiple other guns that XD always feels like home.

My father never really liked handguns so we never had any around the house. My first pistol was a 1911a1 issued by the Navy, even when the Navy switched to M9s, I still would carry a .45, being a Chief then a Senior had its advantages :D

The first I ever purchased was a Ruger Mark II with a 5.5" bull barrel, wish I still had it.

Mine was Ruger Single-six convertible. Given to me on my 10th birthday by my parents 34 years ago. First pistol I paid for was a Blackhawk .41 magnum when I was 12. Mowed lawns all summer while drooling on the Shotgun news ad for it. I still have both.
