what was your FIRST handgun?

I grew up shooting an HY Hunter .22. My uncle gave me a 357 SW model 19 when I was old enough. And, the first handgun I bought was a AMT 22wmag Automag II.

My first handgun was a lighter my brother and I found that was a derringer replica, we gutted it and loaded it with a fuse, powder from fireworks and a patched marble which would shoot clear through a junk waterheater we found out back. Looking back I am really lucky we never blew our fingers off, but we were just ignorant kids and it is a fond memmory that we still laugh about to this day.

Since this forum seems to have quite a broad age group I thought it'd be interesting to hear what everyone's first pistol was and if they still have it today, so share everyone! Mine is a Bodyguard 380 that I just got back in Jan and as of right now it's still my only handgun, but I've already got my eye on another I hope to put on layaway soon!

I haven't seen this FAQ asked for a good long time.

First, FIE .38 derringer. I found it hidden in a place we moved into.

First purchased, Taurus Model 66, 4", blue.

Both are long gone.

I never owned a handgun until I was 30. Bought a Glock 30. I bought it during the AWB for my first carry gun, and figured if all I could carry was 10 rounds they might as well be 45s.

First was a Ruger 4 inch standard auto that I purchased new for $37.50. It was stolen from my car over 40 years ago. It has been replaced by a Ruger MkII.

Second was a Ruger Blackhawk .357 purchased in 1968. Sadly I traded it off in a moment of weakness, but it has been replaced too.

I just bought my first handgun, a Sig P226. I have hunted my whole life but never had a need for a pistol before I moved to the city. Now I sleep with my wife on one side a 870 express and a p226 on the other.

My first was a Taurus 94 .22LR, a copy of the S&W 63 "kit gun"........ I had always wanted a .22 revolver growing up and when I turned 21 I got one on layaway.
Its still my most carried revolver today.
