what was your FIRST handgun?

Ruger Stainless Single Six, I purchased it when I was a teenager, I wore it out in a couple of three years, Second handgun was a Smith and Wesson K22, I wore that one out too. Both guns had to be rebuilt, but were never quite as good as when new, but then again they had been shot many thousands of rounds.

Here it is. Ruger RST-6, bought new in 1979, still have it, still love it. After all, it was a Ruger RST-4 that was the first handgun I ever shot and I was in love. I simply knew I'd have one eventually, though I knew I wanted a longer barrel. Also liked the Rugers enough to purchase a KMK-512 much later.

the first handgun that I was responsible for was issued to me in RVN (like post 2). It was a Remington-Rand 1911A1.

The first one that I bought was a S&W Model 19 when I joined the PD. I wore it out at the range, plinking in the field, hunting and on the pistol team. I replaced it with a Model 65 and a few years later with a Model 58, both of which I still have some 35 years later.

1967 I bought a 1851 Navy Colt 36 cal.that was my first pistol, and have been hooked ever since, still have a black powder revolver, a 1862 police pocket model. Now most of my pistols are snubbies for conceal carry, and 1911's,and WW2 German pistols. And the addiction go's on and on lol

1911 given to me by the US ARMY jan 67 in RVN carried it for 2 tours. got one when i got out and have been carrying one since !:):)

My first handgun was a Ruger Single Six Convertible. 6 inch barrel.

I bought it in Key West when I was in the Navy and still have it.

The first handgun that I bought with my own money was a Ruger P-90. It was a great gun but a bit big for concealed carry so I sold that and put the money towards my current carry gun. When I was about 14 my father decided that he was going to buy a Ruger Bisley in .44mag which he said he bought for me. We shot that revolver together quite a bit and I loved it, alas I never had it in my possession since it was sold long before I got my pistol permit. I will someday own my own Bisley Super Blackhawk to replace that one.

I did a lot of research and put a lot of thought into my first handgun purchase.

I got an HK P7M8 in 1985.

The guy at the Walmart in Leesville LA, tried to talk me into a Beretta 92xx something or other.

When I was 13 or 14, a POS FIE single action .22. I didn't know a .22 could be that loud. Only gun I never regretted selling.
