Given that I night hunt hogs with my lever gun, having the rails for lights and/or IR illuminators would be great. The gun seem terribly lacking in that it does not appear to have a top rail where I mount my NV scope.

XS was supposed to be coming out with a Marlin 1895 tri rail forestock as well, but that mysteriously disappeared from their future releases category and I was bummed.

Yeah, it is ugly. My pole saw, monkey wrench, and tractor I use are all ugly as well, but they work great.

I'm not sure if I'd like having the optic on it, but the light on the rail would be useful.

Put a butt cuff on it with half a dozen extra shells and it would be a formidable defense weapon.

That new Mossberg would be good in that role, maybe even tracking wounded game after the sun goes down.
 
It looks like something Dr Emmett Brown might have had slung over his shoulder in that Back To The Future sequel.

My problem with the chainsaw is not that they made it, it's what they named it. It may very well be a good design for a breaching gun but calling it "the chainsaw" is just a ploy to market it to idiots who think it will make them cool.
 
you're not supposed to say "the chainsaw". That might confuse people with lumberjacking equipment.

You need to call it "THE CHAINSAW". Then it all makes sense ;)
