Which is the most accurate hand gun you own?

I have a SA 1911 that I purchased early in the 90s that started life as a plain jane 1911. Sent it back to the SA custom shop back then and had some work done to it. Added a Richard Heinie Barrel.

I also have a Browning Hi Power I bought brand new back in the early 90s.

I don't own it but a good buddy of mine does.

.17 HMR Model 647 Smith and Wesson.

in his hands that thing is amazing.

Ha!

 You guys make me laugh. 15 yards, 15 feet? HA!

The T/C Contenders would kick your butt! And my EABCO/ BF or MOA pistols are even better. Or Remington XP-100's would too.

My Ruger mkII Target with 10" bull barrel. Its awesome. My $140 CZ52 is surprisingly accurate and for the size, so are the PPS's.

For off hand shooting out to 25 yards would be a toss up between my .41 mag Ruger Blackhawk, and a 4 inch Colt Python.
Long range .357 Wildey Magnum. It will shoot 2 inch or less groups at 100 yards with 190 grain bullets. I am sure if it were in the hands of someone like a decent sillouete shooter it would probably cut that in half. It does not get shot much due to the fact that .475 Wildey brass is not easy to find, and quite expensive when I can. Guys at the rifle range look in awe when they see me shootin cantaloupes off of the berm at 100 yards with it.

Here's the deal for me. ALL of my handguns are more accurate than I am. So, the question is for me: which of my handguns do I shoot most accurately?Of my revolvers, the one that I shoot consistently most accurately is my S & W Model 27-3 4". I dunno why this is so, it has a fairly heavy trigger compared to some of my others, and I shoot some pretty hot magnum loads with it exclusively, either 158 or 125gr factory loads. That gives me a lot of reasons to flinch or pull or push the gun off target but, in fact, that gun and I just seem to like each other. Once or twice it has given me 2 1/2" groups at 25 yards shooting double action off hand. I've never done that well with any of my other handguns, revolvers or semis.

Of my semis, it's a close race between my S & W 1911 and my CZ 75B SA. The CZ is almost boringly accurate and I shoot it very consistently. Which is to say, 2 1/2" groups at 10 yards, 3 1/2" at 15. But, on a good day with my 1911 I can shoot overlapping groups at 15 yards, so it gets the nod. To be honest, I don't think that the 1911 is inherently more accurate than the CZ but it does have a better trigger and that probably gives it a slight edge.

S&W K22 5 screw made in 1948. Amazing gun

S&W 21 44 Special new model. Perfectly regulated too.

Sig P220ST. Hands down the most accurate auto pistol. 2 inch gun at 50 yards no problem...from a rest of course :)

Some folks talked about CZs. I did shoot a friends CZ85. That thing is superb for a 9mm no question. Gotta get one.

It's a toss up between my SW1911 (sku#108284) and my Series 80s "Enhanced" Gold Cup. Both guns are more accurate than I am. Unless I can mount them onto a Ransom Rest or similar setup for testing, I can't do anything to determine which is more accurate.

S&W Model 41 (.22LR pistol). First time at the range, over sandbags on a 25 yard slow fire bullseye target: 100-9x.

For the average, off the shelf, unmodified handgun I own, my S&W M&P 9 is the most accurate for me. I also have a Hi Power 9mm and 1911 .45 but the M&P, from the first time I shot it, has been the most accurate without a rest. Same shooter, same distances, same grip, stance, etc and the M&P shoots the tighest groups. I have no idea why, either, but that's always been the case.

Colt Woodsman is the pistol that most often makes holes where I want them. It may be older than me, but it seems to be getting better with age (unlike me!).
