Which is the most accurate hand gun you own?

Six inch Smith 617 stainless 10 shot revolver.

So accurate I might as well sell it.

My eyes are so bad now it's pretty much useless to me.

I once fired six shots at a distance of 50 yards. Target was only a 12" square of asphalt roofing, and I draped my over weight body over the hood of my pickup for a rest. The gun was my 4" barreled Colt Diamondback. The group was about two inches in diameter. I will never sell the Diamondback. I suppose that my son will own it when I kick the bucket. :)

I shoot my 1978 short-rail CZ75 best.

This thread is too good to let it die.

#1 rimfire - Browning buckmark with 5" bull barrel...amazing little pistol. 12ga hulls at 25yds, clay birds out to 40yds no problem with irons. Points in my hand as naturally as my wiener. I just bought a Ruger Charger today, that may dethrone it, but its cheating really.

#1 centerfire - I swear this is true, Springfield XDM in 40S&W. I used it in my CCW qualifications and amazed everyone including myself. By the end of the test (20-30 rounds?) I had one hole the size of a hardball right where I was pointing. I've been working on handloads for it lately. It shoots so well that I immeadiatly dismiss any load that groups 5 shots more than 2" at 25 yds from a rest. Even the cheap white box winchester goes under 2.5"! My new S&W 1911 is showing promise though. It's so pretty I want it to win.

Sig p226 it's like a laser beam!

Well...I will say that West German P226 pistols are something special, and I seem to hit what I aim at with my '88 P226. The trigger is about as sweet as candy

Tough call.

Rimfire: My 4" 10-shot S&W 617 revolver. I recently picked up a Ruger MkIII that's of comparable accuracy, though.

Centerfire: Technically a tie between my 6" K-38 an my 4" DAO 686. But given that it's also my IDPA/ICORE gun, has a 4" barrel, bobbed hammer, and FO front sight, and has an action this smooth, I'll give the nod to the 686.

All targets represent 15 yards 5-shot groups, shot unsupported, double action:

Chris B. - Very true in my case. It's a matter of which gun I shoot best. I doubt, in fact I'm fairly positive, that I don't get close to the accuracy most of my guns are capable of.

my pt-111 millennium pro is very accurate. great gun to shoot as is all my taurus firearms. i know that might be hard for some of you folks to wrap your head around but its true. now, im sure if i owned a fnp-9 it might be diffrent, but i cant imagine it being any more accurate than my bull.

If I miss anything I can see, it was my fault, not the handgun with any of the following which represent different classes.

Sig P238
S&W K22 with 8 & 3/8" barrel 1979
Browning Medalist 1965
Colt Python with 6" barrel 1979
Thompson Encore .223

Rimfire would be my Ruger mkII.

Centrefire would be my C series Browning High Power. That pistol is deadly.

I have norinco 1911 that can probably be used as a rifle but i dont think its fair comparing that pistol to the others. Its had so much work done to it that when i look at the amounts iv spent it scares me.

It would be a tossup between my HK P7M8 (vintage 1987, with a bazillion rounds through it) and my Dan Wesson Commander Bobtail. Both will shoot the nuts off a fly if you do your part.

Either this, a Les Baer Wadcutter, which is extremely accurate

Or this M586

The bud who sold me this M586 fired at least 40,000 rounds of 148 LSWC 2.7 grains Bullseye and set a National PPC record with it. However, since he was a Reserve Police his record was disallowed.

He said it was exceptionally accurate, and it sure shoots well. I know it would shoot better in his hands as he always beats me in our Club Bullseye competitions. :o

Sig P220 X6. The .45. Shoots better off hand than a Wilson, better than a Les Baer...just...better. Better than it's 9mm brother, a P226 X6.

It's not just me, others who have shot them all agree, although that red dot sight on the Baer makes that crazy accurate as well when benched.
