It's a Milt Sparks VMII NAA Mini Revolver model that I customized by removing the top, the bottom, and all of the sides. Very lightweight.:D

I think i would carry a Ruger-P 95, I just like them, and i do believe some active army units are issuing them. If it was'nt available, i would opt out for John Waynes' .45 Peacemaker. You can shoot it all day and it never needs reloading.:D

I carried my issue S&W 38 Special sidearm when I was involved in one combat tour, and my issue Beretta M9 in another one many years later. I am pretty much ok with both of those weapons.

My personal choices, however, would have been:

Instead of the .38, I would have rather had my Browning HiPower, but sadly I was not allowed to take it to my duty station.

Instead of my M9, I would have also rather had my trusty HiPower.

It'd be a toss up for me. I'm a Sig fan through and through. And swear by them to the end.

But it sure is hard to argue that ugly old Glock is one durable and reliable weapon. But... did I say it was ugly?

I would take a gun I don't own (yet) a S&W M29 Hunter

6" .44 magnum.
I have owned a few various Model 29's over the years, don't own one now, but if I had to go, that's what I'd want.

FWIW, when I did go, back in the late 1960's, I liked the 1911 and carried a Winchester M12 shotgun by choice.

1911 would be my second choice today, if I could take my own from home.

I don't think I would take an AR pistol if I had a primary weapon. If my sidearm was he only weapon I was carrying something as bulky as an AR pistol would be manageable.

I would have to go with Glock. If Kahr made a higher capacity model I would choose a Kahr.

I wouldn't judge anyone harshly who chose a Sig. I don't think I would really like any of the other options all that much.

I don't care, as long as it is the caliber that logistics is supporting in theater.

War is a 24/7 logistics exercise, with brief interuptions for combat ops...

I'd take a .45 glock just due to ease of disassembley (even a detail strip is quick) and I get a quick sight picture with glock sights. They are also very light.

FYI: I own , S&W semi auto, HK USP, and a Glock

I'd be looking for a full size so a kahr is out

I don't trust taurus so they're out

though I like 1911's I would want something without a manual saftey

normally I wouldn't feel outgunned with a 4" .357mag but given the circumstances I would be a little weary of the slower reload and lower round count.

I suppose it would be something like a glock 21sf or some other striker-fired hi-cap .45 but if I could I'd throw in a smith trr8 with lots and lots or moon clips for good measure. at longer distances I'm far better with a wheel gun.

on second thought, keep the Smith, replace the glock .45 with an FN p90:D
I'll take something in a .308 DMR for my primary. hey they do it in video games!
