I'm 20 and I've been shooting revolvers since I was 12. For my 12th b-day my Dad bought me a Ruger Single Six. (Shhh! Don't tell HCI!!!) ;)

I am 42 and I am not old. I'm well aged like a fine wine. I own two revolvers and seven S/A's. I presently have a Model 27 N-Frame and a Model 36 J-Frame. Both were bought used. I love to shoot both of them.
Revolver owners can truly appreciate the fine art of shooting. Why some of the best shooters I have ever seen do their best work with revolvers.
No, I am not an old timer. I am someone, however, who has come to appreciate the finer things in life. Revolvers are one of the finer things in life. 'Nuff said!

I'm 32, and I carry a SP101 with a 3 inch barrel most of the time. I love auto's, but can't seem to find one that meets all my criteria. The Sig 220ST seems to fit the bill for my needs, but I can't afford it at the moment. SO, I'll stick with my Ruger revolvers that have never let me down. My favorite gun is the Ruger GP100 series. I have both a 3 and 4 inch version. I used to have a Speed six and I regret selling it. I am currently getting an itch for a Blackhawk and/or Redhawk.

Became a disciple of Jeff Cooper in 1959. Was forced to the DA revolver as an LEO, became an instructor, and learned to love it. Read Ed McGivern's book dog-eared and over time got to where I could shoot the wheelgun better on a bad day than I could a semiauto on a good day.

Love N frames but they are just too big for me. But the original 5" Triple Lock Target in .44 stays anyway.

TV westerns were still big then, so bought a nice 1882 vintage Colt SAA .45 in Seattle in 1962 for $84. Still have it. Had to fudge on my age but what the heck. Now I am prone to fudge the other way. It all evens out.

Daily driver: a Ruger Service Six .357; plinker: S&W M18 set up to match the Ruger. 'Always: S&W 442.

:D :D

Age: 24

Number of Revolvers: Currently 1 (629 Mountain Gun).

Previously: 2 686 4"s.

My shooting friends all tell me I have a sick addiction to Revolvers (far and away my favorite thing to inspect at gun shows, and talk about, and fantasize about.) I also cruise Gunbroker and Gunsamerica building my fantasy Wheelgun arsenal.

:D

Glockstero:
Yep you have the right idea. I do like automatics but have inherently more faith in a quality revolver such as S & W. The auto conceals more easily . I I need to wear jacket and tie I carry my little Seacamp 32. If I can dress casual I carry either S&W 60, the bodyguard, or Centennial in 357

Smith Model 60 .357 con 2.1875" tube.
WOW, man--you got one of the RARE ones. Most of those shipped had the more common 2.18742-inch barrels.:p

(FOUR decimal places???)

Best,
Johnny

I gotcha "oldtimer"...right here!

I'm 51. First wheel-gun at 17. A Colt Frontier Scout. Still have it. Last wheel was a Taurus 731UL. Many in between. I still have them, too. I just can't bear to part with any. Even when I was broke it never entered my head to sell one. Yeah, yeah...I KNOW it's a little nuts. I just received an e-mail from a TFL member in Florida who told me, "There's a fine line between a hobby and insanity". He might know me a little TOO well.:)

Hello all. I'm not at all that old being born in '51, but if liking revolvers makes me "old," then so be it! Like my good friend, Mr. Guest, I generally shoot/carry semiautomatics in either 9mm or .45ACP, but do see a place for the "ancient" revolver.

Favorite: S&W M24 in .44 Special; just plain fun to shoot and with the proper handloads, it's accurate and capable of "handling" most critters I would "handle" in Texas. With the right factory defensive load, it would "handle" other things, too.

Most Carried: S&W M042 .38 Special; soooo convenient and not all that hard to get decent hits with after practice. I feed this one standard pressure Nyclad 125 gr HPs as it's not rated for +P.

Another Fav: S&W 3.5" bbl'd M27; fun to shoot and just a darned lovely revolver in my opinion.

Here's the .44 Spec. I thought it was worth the $200 I paid for it!

Best.

OLD ??

Last gunfight I was involved in with a pistol happened before most of the posters were born. The pistol, a 1911 A1 which I fired at the range this morning. Location, near Chorwon,Korea, time and date, about 0200 April 6,1953. And I was in one war before that, and two after!!! But I ain't old, I still shoot twice a month and ski about 70 days per season. I own 4 semi-autos and 5 revolvers.
And the 1911 A1 that saved us that night is still my absolute favorite.

I'm in my mid 50's and my favorite revolvers would have to be my S&W model 13 in .357, followed by my Charter Arms Bulldog in .44 special. Though I like and own a great many others revolvers and auto's too, these two are my particular favorites.

Easy Question: I'm 55

Hard Question: Well, there are my Smith "N" frames, my Ruger GP-100s, my Colt Python . . . Way too difficult for me to answer.

29 and holding...and I prefer revolvers over autoloaders hands down. Down in the gun room there's one auto (HK) to 6 revolvers.

Here's some " old time" ones for old timers.

These are pretty lightweight and slim by today's standards

They say you are only as old as you feel. That would make me about 97 next month.
Actually I'll be 58. I am a S&W double action revolver nut! :D

Favorite handgun and first choice is a S&W 4" Model 19.

I too have more than a few autos and shoot them regularly, BUT I prefer a my Model 19 for everything.

OLD TIMERS?
last year i got my first revolver at age 18. first gun i bought though was a buckmark but i do love my gp-100 now though. next guns going to be a blackhawk in 45colt. revolvers are the greatest, though i do have a yearning for a good 1911
