What's Your "Go To War" Pistol?

I reckon if it comes down to me having to fight a war my choice wouldn't matter. The situation would be like Red Dawn, a few people picking off a few of the enemy with whatever they had.

Well GunNut- jsyk a slingshot like anything takes practice. But you can KILL something with a slingshot. Definitely can take an eye out... My Papa taught me how to hunt rabbits with one when I was a wee lad.
David took down Goliath with just a sling and a stone.

My four caliber SIG P226 (.22lr, 9mm, .357SIG & .40S&W). All in one handy case.

Well, I don't see any caveat in the OP that says it must be a pistol I presently own, so I'm going to pretend I bought one the day before this war broke out and plum for an FN FiveseveN.

Big capacity and I should find ammo along the way to the abandoned sports store where I would "liberate" the best pair of running shoes money had been able to buy....

What's Your "Go To War" Pistol?
As stated in the title, what would be your first choice as a go to war pistol. We all know a rifle of some sort would be preferred but I'm talking strictly a SINGLE pistol that you would trust your life on that you consider to be dead nuts reliable. What would it be and what caliber? Lastly, it has to be something you currently own.

Not to sound condescending but "Go to War" and Pistol in the same sentence doesn't jibe.

Fine, I'll play - P226 or 5906TSW, basically identical.

Of what I own right now? I'd have to go with my HP-DA. Thing is a steel tank, if I run out of ammo...I can throw it at them!

@Microgunner, I've been meaning to ask, what pistol case is that? My 226 setup(only two more calibers to go!) could use a nice travelling home like that.

Don't remember the make and model but I ordered it from Cheaper Than Dirt.

ok 9mm because you can find anywhere

lightweight (not all steel)

simple design and cleaning.

I guess I am describing a Glock or similar. I do not personally own one, but can shoot a G21 and a G20 (10mm not a good idea cause of ammo).

At the moment, I would bring my Baretta PX4 storm. Light, easy to clean, durable and reliable, high capacity 17rnd magazines. Has a rail that I would attach my upcoming Veridian C5l green laser and light too and thats a rap!

Ok it does have a safety/decocker - but crawling around i may want that on so I don't shoot myself.

There's not a lot of call for old fat men in the front lines.
If there were a war into which I was drafted, I'd be one of the guys way to the r
ear. Doubt if they'd even issue me a weapon.

No offense but, if you were drafted, you would be issued a weapon, you would learn to use it, and like Cpl. Upham in "Saving Private Ryan" you may not end up in the rear. So feel free to choose your weapon.

millitary is cutting back on both enlisted and officers now days. Used to be called RIFTED. OR F you because u got 2 years left to retire.....
