What's Your "Go To War" Pistol?

I would carry a Hi Power or variant in the original single action cocked and locked. I love my 1911, but I'd want more readily available NATO ammunition and the higher capacity. I just can't fit a Beretta that well in my hands!! Or a Sig for that matter.

I wouldn't pick a gun I don't own, so my go to is Springfield TRP 1911. Its dead accurate, dead reliable and I shoot it very, very well.

I like the 357 magnum and because this is the Semiautomatic forum I would have to go with my Coonan. If I could pick a revolver it would be my S&W 627.

But if I was really going to "war" I would want a rifle.

Walther PPQ.

I have some of the 17 cap mags for it, it's reliable, I can take it down without tools, and I am comfortable and confident shooting it.

I own five pistols...

The 1860 Army cap n ball and Jukar muzzleloader are out.

The Sig Trailside is too small.

The GP100 only has 6 rounds at hand

So, it's down to my CZ75b in 40cal. And that doesn't break my heart at all:D

It would be a tough choice between my Browning Hi Power and one of my Colt 1911's, but as 9MM is more prolific, I'd go with the BHP.

Probably my USP 45. Reliable. Accurate. Hi capacity, with a large caliber bullet. Can be carried cocked and locked. Breaks down easily, as well as easy to clean.

Mine would be my FNX 9mm, fairly new to me as of now. Only about 500 rounds thru it so far but not a hiccup as of yet, and I doubt it will loaded with my 3 17 round magazines need to get a few more...

I'm dying to say one of my 1911s ... but the best gun I own for the circumstances described is my XDm-9 ... with three full mags and one in the pipe, almost 60 rounds available; it's very accurate, easy to maintain with minimal equipment and in the three years I've owned it has never failed in any way ... also, 9mm ammo is probably the easiest centerfire round available, and I have stockpiled a lot of it ... in case we have a zombie outbreak here in rural Texas ...

There's not a lot of call for old fat men in the front lines.
If there were a war into which I was drafted, I'd be one of the guys way to the r
ear. Doubt if they'd even issue me a weapon.

Actually I think us old fat guys would be a better choice for the front lines. We're too fat, old and broken down, or too slow to run away so we'd have no choice but to stand and fight. Most of us are ****** off most of the time anyway so this gives us something to take our anger out on. If you've been married as long as me you are much better at taking orders than most younger kids. Most of us have our best years behind us so we have a lot less to live for than some 20 year old kid. I'd volunteer to take the place of some 21 year old with two young kids at home.

I'd take my G-19, but could live with what ever I happend to pick up along the way.

Of the handguns I own my first choice would be my Springfield Loaded 1911A-1 in .45 acp. My second choice would be my 9mm Ruger P89.

I have several magazines for both and to be brutally honest while the 1911 is my favorite, I would not feel inadequately armed with the P89.

My old Glock 17 IDPA state match gun!

Bar-sto barrel and 17 rounds of British L7A2, which chronos out at 1395 from my 17's barrel ought to do. Does not kick much more than anything else!

dEAF

Browning HP, with 21 rd extended mags full o' hollow points. Any kind of war I would end up in would be a war of societal breakdown in this country, so concerns about "no hollow points" rules would be out the window. :D

Reliable, accurate, easy to shoot, easy to clean.

But a handgun is merely a sidearm. A good rifle(s) is my major concern. And having long range reach out and touch someone capability is paramount.

Too old, fat, and lazy to go to war. But if war came to me, then my Dad's Colt Government model .45acp. Worked for him, still works for me. And with match ammo, will make 5shots in one rip at 25yds.

I'd also consider my Browning BDA .45, which I've had since 1980. Fully confidant in either.
