What was your first handgun?

Mine was a Norinco M54-1 tokarev clone with two barrels, 7.62x25 and 9mm, 2 mags, holster and cleaning rod. Was at a local gun shop for $100. I paid my parents to buy it for me.:) That was only last year. I love that pistol. Very accurate and loud.

My first pistol was a Raven .25 ACP. After 60,000 or so rounds without a malfunction, it's still my "go to" gun for most situations.

OK, I was kidding about most of that but my first pistol really was a Raven. I'm not ashamed of it, either, I was young and just barely getting by on my looks.

It was one of these two, cna't tell which one in the picture though, the other one was my late fathers gun, I now own them both.

When they were bought new the price was $89.00........I believe somewhere around 1971.

My first was an Italian Tanfoglio SAA clone of sorts in 22 lr/mag that my dad gave me for my 12th birthday in 1980. I still have it.

My first handgun was a little while after I turned 21, it was a S&W M&P 9c, I'm 22 almost 23 now, my collection has since grew by one with a Kimber Pro Carry II stainless, and am about to add another one in a couple of weeks.

First gun I ever owned was my father's Colt 1903 .32 Automatic, which he gave to me when I turned 21. Technically, I still own it, but he keeps borrowing it back!

First handgun I ever purchased for myself was a Ballester-Molina .45 Auto. Hardly a match-grade tack driver, but it served me well for a number of years. Still regret letting that one get away during a period of penury.....

My first handgun was a Ruger Mark III 22/45 (it is jointly owned by me and my father because we each paid half).

However the first gun that was totally 100% mine, was given to me on my birthday last year by my mom, and is a Smith and Wesson M&P 40.

Well, my father bought me a .22LR Lightning by AMT for target fun, when i was just a youngster (about 9 or 10); i still have it but don't use it much. I bleve this is the pistol that got AMT sued massively by the Ruger folks they were knocking off. It is a PIA to reassemble; AMT shouldn't have copied that part.

At 15 my aging grandmother traded me a .38 snubby with a HEAVY trigger pull for an airhorn i had bought; it still amazes me i didn't get in trouble for that one. Mom has that in the nightstand nowadays.

The first pistol i bought for and by myself was the Springfield XD45, purchased last year (age 38).

My first handgun was a S&W model 65. I bought it in 1978 when I entered the police academy. Later that year my agency decided to issue it's officers model 66's so I promptly sold the 65 (my pay was about $600/month and with a wife a 2 kids I needed the money). I wish I still had that 65. Since that itme I've owned many handguns and have sold very few of them.

Ruger Standard .22 Semi-Auto. Ruger's first commercial design. Purchased new for $37.50......don't ask my age.:)

Oh, I still have it and shoot it to this day. I guess I could break out the camera and take a photo, but most know what a Ruger Standard looks like anyway.

The first one i bought was a Rohm RG-38, and a mayonaise jar half full of 38special ammo. I bought a guy $15 worth of gas in trade for it when I was 16-17 years old. I wanted the ammo and realized the gun was a ****. The guy kept emphasizing: "I'm trading you for the ammo and holster and ammo....I'm throwing the gun in free"!

I still have it, and not real sure I want to know its past!

My first handgun was a chrome plated Colt Model 1911 (an original 1911, not a 199A1).

Sad to say that I traded it back in 1983 in a deal at a Gun Store in Great Falls, Montana.

Raven .25 ACP when I was 17 years old. I traded it for a racing bucket seat. I know I shot it quite a bit and it actually worked. I think I traded it for some other car racing part.
