What handgun would you go back in time to buy if you could?

kcub said: I'd buy a Smith and Wesson Registered magnum.

I'm with you kcub, it's a gun that even a blind man can appreciate. Mine would have a 6 1/2" barrel although the 8 3/8" barrel would be hard to resist.

I think aarondgraham is on the right track with the Walker Colt. After that, I think I'd try to get hold of a Singer manufactured 1911. If the time machine was still working, I would "shoot" for a Smith-Corona manufactured ’03A3 with a six groove barrel. ..................after all, wishes come in three's don't they?

If I could turn back time I would buy all the Remington Model 1911's SN 8000001 to 8000500. SN 001 sold at action in 2010 for somewhere between $50K and $95K?

Dream Time

Ok... I'll play. I'd go back and get my self an original Colt Walker, better yet a crate of those puppies. That way I could sell a few and do a range trip with the one I'd keep.

That's simple for me . . . I'd go back far enough to where I could buy a brand new 1851 Colt Navy off the shelf . . . and I'd also buy a second one just to keep it company! :D

Currently looking at purchasing a Coonan Classic .357Mag.
Sent them an e-mail to set up the purchase haven't heard
back from them so it may not happen. I'm really BIG on Customer Service,
even a "hey we got your e-mail, we're busy, get back to you as soon as possible" would be nice.

If not considered the FN five seven (not really solid on this one)

Or If anything ANOTHER Dan Wesson .44 Mag.

When the police transitioned from S&W revolvers to semi-autos I bought some Model 28s. I wish I'd bought a truckload of them.:D

This is actually pretty easy. I'm surprised (shocked actually) more haven't chosen this, but several have got it "right"---a +1 for a Colt Single Action Army with military (US) markings, 7.5" "Cavalry" especially. Do it right and if/when needed you could pay for a good part of your kid's college (including out of state, etc) with one of these. In the meantime, one heck of a conversation piece. As someone else said, better yet make it two of 'em, if "allowed" under the OP's unstated rules, or a crate of them.

Same as above goes for those that have said 1851 Navy and Colt Walker--they got it right too! Have you seen what a "as new" for any of the above Colts fetches?!--that's when very rarely found.

As many pre lock, pre MIM S&W's that I could get my hands on. If I bought enough, I could sell them to the guys that are afraid of progress, and retire. That being said, I wish I would have bought a 617 when they sold for about 400-500 every day.

Borchardt C-93
1900's era Lugers
1st Generation Colt SAA 45's and 44-40's
Registered DIAS's
First year production Python (1955)
First year production 1911 (1912)
Mateba revolver
G.R.A.D. Knife-Gun
Bravermen Pen Gun
Shotgun engraved by Firmo Fracassi before anyone knew who he was.

This is basically my short list of "What I want, but will never get without winning the lottery".
