What Handgun Have You Owned For The Longest Time

Ruger Blackhawk .357. Never sell it. This was the first gun that was my very own as a late teenager. Packed it around a lot in those days, hiking and fishing, target shooting... Shot other guns before that time, but they were someone else's guns.

Ruger RST-6 that I purchased NIB in 1979.

Michael gets the Chicago Police special edition Sig 220DAK, if he uses it as a Police Officer I will disown him .

Connor gets the TRP.

Sean gets the 645

Brennen gets the revolver to be named later.

Future offspring TBA

Irish, huh, Wagonman?

My mom and my daughter are both Colleen.....
Hope Brennen gets a nice revolver.

A J.C. Higgins (Sears) Model 88 .22 revolver with 4" barrel and fixed sights. I bought it in 1956. I disliked the grip, so I built it up with wood putty and finished it off with friction tape. Fired almost exclusively single action over the decades. As a result, the double action could use some work. The finish could too.

Second candidate: a 9mm Browning Hi Power T-series bought in 1968 and carried as my personal weapon of two flying cruises during Vietnam. All gussied up now with a C&S SFS kit and Crimson Trace grips, I fire it weekly at my range -- only standard pressure. Then afterwards, as I clean it, I admire it.

Cordially, Jack

oldest handgun

My BHP, bought the summer I was 21, in 1984. I'll post some pics, if I can ever figure out how to post them.

handgun I've owned for the longest

It is my 1911 Colt it was made in the first part of 1918 and carried and used in WW1. I org. got it in 1973 from the widow of the man that got me into shooting, I sold it to my Brother In Law at one time but was able to get it back. It will stay with me till I will it to one of my grandkids, I am actually the 3rd person to own it. I even used it as a carry gun for awhile when I was in Law Enforcement. :)

I still shoot it once in awhile. I still have the org. barrel though it is shot out. I replaced the barrel and the barrel bushing years ago. But can still replace it to all orginial. It is a neat old gun.

My Colt 1903 .32 semiauto. According to the serial number it was made in 1915. My father acquired it in the early 60's when he owned a pharmacy, and carried it when he went to the store late at night to fill emergency prescriptions. (Without so much as a how-dee-doo with regard to whatever the handgun laws were in Maryland at that time.) I've had it since 1980.

Ruger MKII Target with a 5.5" tapered heavy barrel. Bought new in 1993, owned a few guns prior to that but they all got away.
