What Handgun Have You Owned For The Longest Time

my father gave me a colt combat commander nickel plated 45acp in 1985. I started carrying it the day i got my gun permit (3 months after 18b-day). Still own it, but have retired it as a pc, however, i have stayed faithful to the 45acp.

Model 19

Mine is a model 19 357 magnum i have had it since 1988 and my son will end up with it when i finally take a dirt knap

Still have the first handgun I ever bought, a Taurus 85 .... got it probably 15 years ago, it's my car gun now ... still shoots straight, nothing's loose, no end shake ... and it was cheap!

old hangun

Got a Ruger single six converter 22 cal/ 22 mag my Mother bought me at age 16. First one I purchased was a 4 in Model 19 when I became a deputy at 21 in 1971. Just shot a IDPA match that same gun last weeekend

Taurus model 80 38 special 4 inch barrel
bought around 1973 - 1974. Still in great shape.
Making it my wife's gun since I finally talked her
into being the backup.

The one I've had the longest is a Ruger, .22 my dad gave for my 16th birthday, (1966), and it will stay with me until I leave it to my grandson.

I have a Savage, mod 24, .22/410 that I've had since I was 10 yrs old. The Ruger is the oldest pistol.

Mark.

S&W Model 19

S&W mod19 6" barrel blued. It was the first handgun I ever bought back in the 1970s.

If I counted correctly, I'm the 7th to post a mod19 in this thread. I'm guessing that the beautiful blued finish might have attracted some others as it did me.

The oldest handgun that I bought. Colt .45 Single Action Army - beveled cylinder, black powder frame, bulls eye ejector, factory Ivory grips bought new in 1986 from Ray's Sporting Goods on Singleton in Dallas for the princely sum of $1160.00. I had to put it on lay way and pay it out. Glad I did.

My Grandma's High Standard .22 with a 6" barrel. My dad has my Papaw's break open .38 S&W. I honestly don't know how old that revolver is. I've had it since she passed away in 1984. :(

The handgun I've owned for the longest time is a Smith & Wesson 659. Unfortunately, I don't still own any of the first guns I bought when I was about 18. Those were:

Remington 700 22-250
S&W 38 Police Special
Nickle copy of a S&W .38 snubnose.
Ruger 10-22

Sold all of those and bought a Taurus PT-99 and a Polytech AK-47. Taurus PT-99 broker after 6 months of shooting. I almost purchased a Steyr GB, but opted for the Smith 659. Bought a Steyr GB years later.
