I have 3 guns in the nightstand, but I would reach for the 9mm one first. Its my P-01 and I am more comfortable with it than anything I have right now.

Depending on the circumstances, it's a 357 revolver in the night stand or 12ga pump on the wall rack next to the bed...The intruder will not be happy with either one.

Primary is an Ithaca 37 loaded with #5 high brass. Secondary is a S&W 5946, it's heavy so recoil is light, it's a DAO so there's not a lot of buttons or switches to figure out, and everybody inside knows how to run it!
And just in case I hafta reach out and touch somebody, there's a .30 cal. M-1 Carbine backing up everything else! And just between you and me, it might replace the 12 gauge!

I should get a 45 ACP, but....

20 gauge Rem 870 w/ tactical 6 round magazine and either my SP101 DAO snubbie or LCR 38+P loaded with 135 grain subsonic Speer or Win PDX1 rounds. My cat :barf: is de-clawed so I'm on my own.

I have a .357 magnum (SW Model 65) as my bedside gun. I like a revolver because of its simplicity at 3:00 a.m. in the morning. I wouldn't mind .38 spl +P but want the extra power of the magnum if someone is in my home.

I do have a 12 gauge nearby.

- 4th Gen G22 in the nightstand with a full clip and two spares.
- Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun with 00 buck behind the door.
- Remington 700 ADL 22-250 in closet for long shots. (Usually coyotes) :D
- 8mm Mauser cased in the closet if it turns into a war

I have a Model 65 loaded with .38sp +P hollow points. I have two speed loaders next to the gun, one with more +P, the other with .357 for any persistent problems.
