Love the CZ52, but ooof are they loud and the muzzle flash is pretty unreal. I reload for mine and have a very nice cast bullet load that would work, but to use the factory stuff, you're probably gonna go a little deaf.

Ah! But I have reasons the CZ 52 is a preferred home defense handgun!

1. The noise will certainly kill the perp if the bullet misses...
2. The ejected case will kill the perp if he's in front and to the right of me...
3. The CZ-52 always fires and works until all 8 rounds are expended...
4. When the cops come to the crime scene they will likely remove my handgun from me for testing. I can live without my CZ 52 for a few days or weeks or whatever easier than my WWI Colt!

Whatever was carried that day goes under my pillow when I sleep. Lately a S&W .357 J frame. A shotgun is not far away.

I keep the guns that I choose from for carry in a safe in my bedroom. That gives me access to a .45acp and .327FM (plus a full compliment of ammo for both) at the flick of a few buttons.

If I had been cleaning/admiring another gun before I went to bed, it may have found its way to the night-stand to be put away in the morning.

Ruger speed six .38 spl. loaded with +P 125 gr. hollow points. If for some reason I felt there was an increased threat I would probably switch it for the S&W .40 autoloader. beyond that would be my Rem. 870 12 ga..

12 gage

Where I live in N.Y. I was told never to use a hand gun for home defense unless you want to do more prison time than the perp. A shotgun is much more legally friendly for the home owner.

My Headboard gun is a Sig 226 in 357Sig and a S&W 340PD in the drawer backed with a Streamlight Stinger DS LED @ 185 lumens

I keep a 1911 in .45 ACP and a .357 magnum close by, but the gun I will grab first is an 870 loaded with 00 buck that leaning against the wall between the bed and night table

Mossy 590-A1 loaded with 00 buck. Slugs on a side saddle carrier. Also an XD9 with nightsights and an M3 light to back up the shotgun. You can never be to well armed can you?

Nightstand gun

Mine is a Taurus PT-92 with a laserlyte mounted. It is currently stoked with 124 grain Speer Gold Dots.
The day gun is close, too. It is in the nightstand.

In home defense use, I'd use my Mini 14 (got 20 and 30 round mags) but I plan on getting something in .40 for carry, the range and as a backup for home defense.

Of course, this might change when I finish grad school and get more money to expand my arsenal.

First time poster, long time shooter.
Mine is a Combat Commander .45 w/ Hydrashok and her's is a 2" .357 w/ Hydrashok. The 1300 is in the corner with '00 and a pressure switch Mag light. Pray to God I never need them, but if I do.....

I currently use my Glock 22 with light and laser combo on the rail, however, when the money comes along (or a great deal) I'd like to get a Glock 30SF. We live in a heavily populated condo with fairly thin walls and I'd like to have the added comfort of knowing it most likely won't penetrate to my neighbors.

I only have a clock and a phone on my "night stand".I let the better half with "eyes & ears" like a hawk protect me while I sleep from a hard days work, but I do have lightning fast access to some of my guns if she wakes me and needs help. You don't want to ruffle her feathers. :D
