So How Long Did It Take For Your C&C Permit to Arrive?

Turned my paperwork in the 20th or so of November, was told to expect 100 day proccessing time :barf: Got my permit in the mail a couple days before christmas, so about 30 days.

I sent my application for a Pennsylvania non resident license and I had it in 10 days. I sent in my application for a Florida non resident license in early December and I'm still waiting. Says it takes up to 90 days to get it but I've heard some people have waited 4 months:eek:.

Well they recieved my app on oct 24......I'm still waiting. I called today and the nice gal told me it should be any day now. :(

In Va it's 45 days. If you dont get it by then, you are supposed to be able to use your receipt of submission as a temporary permit. I got mine on the 45th day. Wonder if they did that on purpose.

Indiana its 4-8 weeks.

I sent mine in on Nov. 20 and I'm still waiting. I called the State Police on Jan. 17 (my current one was supposed to expire on the 18th) and was told 8-12 weeks. The good news is I can still legally carry so long as I have my old liscense and my copy of the application (that's what the lady with ISP told me). I've been told that they've been pretty backed up ever since the lifetime liscenses became available (that's what I applied for), perhaps the turnaround on a 4 year is quicker.

The law in Georgia says 60 days but many of the counties ignored the time limit. Our local 2A group, georgiacarry.org, sued a couple of counties and now the system moves much faster. Having an active, noisy local group in your state goes a long way in protecting your rights...

I took the class for the SC permit back in November. I talked to someone at SLED just a few days ago and I was told the processing turnaround was running at around 90 days. I believe agency budget cuts and reduced manpower may be partially to blame.

... 28 days in Atlanta..( Gwinnett county):If you are able to to get your finger prints done digitally...even sooner.:D

I mailed my application in April of 2008. They sent it back to me in July of 2008 because I forgot to complete how many months I was at one of the addresses. I corrected the application and mailed it back in again and then received another letter back on November 29, 2008 stating that I now had 90 days to send them a Certified Criminal History Report from the previous state that I lived in. I mailed my request to Jacksonville, Florida along with my money order on 12/1/2008. I did not get the report back from the BOZO'S in Jacksonville until January 12, 2008. I called the Texas Department of Public Safety to confirm the correct mailing address so that I would not get dinged because of missing a date dead-line. I just looked at the on-line status for my CHL and this is what I find "No application or license/certificate active.".

I called and the girl said that I have to speak to Miriam. Transferred me to Miriams voice mail as Miriam leaves work at 4:30PM each day.

So, I have met ALL of their requests, in the time-line that they have asked me and I am still apparently getting the F'ing shaft! I have never felt like such a criminal before. This is what happens when the government gets involved with things that are NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS! For those of you who support any form of gun control--let me be one of many to tell you that ONLY the law abiding citizens get punished with "gun control". The criminals go about life unencumbered. That's government for you. Here I sit with no CHL and I am at 9 months & counting..

My dad is getting ready to take his ccw training class this weekend here in southwestern Ohio. I will keep an update of how long his process takes. Mine was same day I filled out paperwork (the day after I took the class). Hopefully his will be similar :)

GA CCW

10 days in Fayette co. applied on 1/12 received permit on 1/22, BUT since GAs new house bill passed there is no renewal, every 5 years you start over.
Figure that way they get the full $47.00 instead of the $35.00 renewal fee.

It took about three weeks for my Utah permit, (one day ccw class, 4-6 page background check, passport id and finger print card) and 24 hours for my Alabama permit, one sheet for back ground check. Just depends on what state you live in

Carry Permit

Renewed mine yesterday. It was kinda busy three people ahead of me. so it took 35 min. start to finish with a photo I.D type card $30.00 Washington ,Pa just south of pittsburgh, Pa "Go Steelers"

I'm glad I live in Alabama. When I initially got my permit back in the 90's, I took the paperwork to the SO one day, picked up the permit the 2nd day cause I didn't want to wait an hour. I can renew by mail, but I just swing by the SO, give them the $10 fee and it takes 5 minutes max.

I live in SC and got my CWP just over a year ago. I took the CWP class in late October 2007 and sent the paperwork in early November 2007. My permit came in the mail in early January 2008, about 8 weeks after I sent it in.

I would believe the delay is the high number of CWP applications submitted recently because of the 2008 election, the same thing that has caused high demand for guns & ammo over the past few month.
