I'm in Lee County. 30 minutes south of Raleigh. I can assure you, nobody in this county has EVER gotten one back in a week. ;)
 
a year ago in southeastern NC took about 2 weeks. my wife applied for hers last thursday... ill let ya know.
 
I'm coming up on 60 days this week since I turned in the paperwork (I'm another one from Wayne County in Michigan). I was told that it was running just under 2 mo when I took the class back in November, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it'll arrive any time now!
 
Only took about a week after completing the course, filling in the forms, and sending to the state with the fee.
 
montana would have been same day, but i did it on new years day and the sheriff was off duty. so i had to come back a few days later when the sheriff was in to sign.

the permit almost isn't needed in montana though.
 
My class in Maine was held on 2 nights, and completed it on December 8th, and I mailed it out on Dec. 10. They cashed my check on Dec. 30th. I called this past Wednesday, 5 weeks from the date mailed, and received a response the following day stating it would be a couple more weeks, as they were waiting on a couple more background checks. Seems like they need to update their application, as it says it would be processed in approximately 30 days.

It took me about 15 minutes; I did it on my lunch break! Printed the application out on my computer, filled it out, took it to the sheriff's office in the courthouse, had a seat, walked out with my permit. One nice part of living in PA!
