S&W "Something big coming April 12th 2012"

I was going to say a small, single-stack 9mm M&P. Hadn't seen the picture, though. I have absolutely no need for that pistol but I will almost certainly buy one. :)

Smith & Wesson is taking a cue from Apple. They're making people anticipate the arrival of a new product so they can camp on the sidewalk outside their local gun shop for three days to be first in line to get the new gun?

It's the oldest marketing trick in the book. Every company has been trying to get people to camp out for their products since the wheel. In the end, I doubt the product will be anything that takes us by storm. But good on them for using social media to promote this whole thing. They did a really good job on that end.

Smart bets would be an M&P pocket .380 model or a single stack 9mm/.40 platform sub-contact. We'll see soon, I suppose!

Hmm a 380? they already got the BG, maybe a Glock 25 size because we don't get those here. Glock 26/27 sized 380 but made by S&W.. Due to important laws.

Looks like this is S&W's answer to Ruger's SR9 and SR9c.

This is the gun that is going to reduce the crime rate in America. After April 12th, we will have fewer crimes, assaults, car jackings and home invasions. We will all be safer.

I can't even see why people are excited about this.

It looks like it's about the size of the Berertta Nano / Glock 26 / Walther PPS - around there.

Unless it's the size of the Kahr PM9 or the Rohrbaugh R9, Sig-Sauer P290... thereabouts, I don't see what this thing really has to offer.

Well anyway, I'm starting the c0untd0wn...

It's a single stack so a glock 26 wouldn't be right to compare size. Beretta nano seemed too small when i held one. Whereas my selection brought me to ruger LC9 and Walther PPS. The ruger was nice but the grip on the pps was much nicer and handled more like a full size pistol. It wasn't too small where i felt more comfortable shooting accurately and wasn't too big where it's hard to conceal. For me it's the perfect size for concealed carry which is why i paid the extra money for it.

Smith and Wesson is essential adding another player into this arena, where there are currently only a few contenders. Competition leads to better products and lower prices, so it's a win win for everyone and not something to complain about.

With the rise in CCW licenses throughout the country, it's a good move on S&W's part to capitalize on the movement. Springfield is also doing this with the XD-S, they'll be releasing their 9m soon.

Unveiling the NEW S&W ultimate conceal carry

From what I've gathered, not many people have yet to really take a good look at the lastest from S&W. It's definitely worth giving a second thought if you're in the market for a cc gun

I don't know if you can get much better in terms of ergonomics, size, capacity, and overall design.

I think this will give the kel tec pf9, ruger lcp/lcr, and the other small conceal carry guns a run for their money

It will depend on the MSRP as there is a glut of compact stuff on the market now so the competition is fierce--Of course, there will always be the S&W allegiance needless to say which will account for big sales regardless.

-Cheers

I believe the death knell to glock market share is here, too many brands with innovations glock simply doesnt have.. Its not that I think they will go out of business but the market share is done for unless they do something that is a real innovation and not just more of the same..

I think the S&W will certainly be worth renting for a shot or two..
