S&W "Something big coming April 12th 2012"

"Something BIG is coming" makes me think it will be tiny, like a LCP rip off.

I wish they'd get the 32NAA cartridge more mainstream and along the power lines of the 7.62x25. More power in a small package = Something Big, imo.

Big new S&W Military and Police factory gun cases?...

Maybe S&W will roll out new and "improved" factory blue cases for their customers who spend $$$ for handguns with cheap blue plastic POS boxes that break apart?
Hmmm?
Maybe it's wishful thinking... :).

How about this: They will offer to replace any revolver with the dreaded lock with a similar one without the lock free of charge. Then they will replace the crappy finishes that have been coming out lately with something that looks better and is more durable. :)

Ah, but S&W doesn't have a .380 revolver. Taurus has that market cornered at the moment.

But why? I ask... it seems to me that a .380 revolver is damn near the same size a 9mm or .38 revolver. For the negligible difference in size, you're seriously downgrading your stopping power. Now going from a .380 to 9mm in a semi auto, your talking the difference between being able to pocket carry or not. Just look at the difference between the LCP and LC9 (of which I both have).

Shotgun shells made for a .50 cal pistol would be 36 & 7/12th gauge or 36.5835 gauge, although I guess they could name it 36½ and call it good.

The S&W 500 cartridge is already 2.25 OAL, I don't think it's that much of a jump to go to 2½" shells...

They're bringing back the S&W 296. I've emailed them repeatedly, and they're finally listening.

And it's contoured centennial style instead of that ugly humpback looking thing.

Here is a guarantee: Something identical to what everyone else is already doing...

Now that seems like the most sensible post in this whole thread so far. Not that I don't applaud their effort, but really, IMO they did themselves a huge disservice when they decided to bring out the Governor. It was funny when Taurus was the only one selling them, but now it's like a disease or something :D When will Ruger release theirs?

Oh and please, if you're going to force a laser on what ever this is, at least make it half-way easy to use. ;)

For all the Judge/Governor owners out there, please don't beat me up. :p
Ok, my sad attempt at humor is done now.

Maybe they're producing my "dream CC": A 2/3 size version of the FN Five-seveN with a capacity of 14+1 and better styling and a price point @ $500.

Most likely: an upsized Bodyguard semiauto in 9mm with laser....

Wild guess: an upsized .410 Bodyguard semiauto with laser....'cause. 410's are hot.....

:D

I am going with a less lethal weapon for my guess. Perhaps a pepperspray and contact stun gun creation. My second guess would be somekind of small body armor like that from US PALM.

I forgot to mention it in my previous post but wouldn't it be great if we are all overthinking this thing and it was literally a shield. Just a big awkward shield to stand behind or use as a weapon during an encounter with a bad guy! The could offer it on various sizes too.

Compact Captain America style, Standard SWAT style (with optional little window), or Tacticool Spartan fullbody length. All models would come with built in stun-gun like the ones used by prisoner extraction teams.

You can get made in Scandium for triple the price and two whole ounces less than other models too.
