Illegal Aliens rallying across US today

I'd like to take this opportunity...

to invite those unhappy with the way things are in their country that have come to my country illegally to do like our founding fathers(and mothers)did and do something about their own situation in their own country. At this point I think there are more Mexicans in this country than in Mexico! If they would all go back and conduct their protests in their own country instead of screwing traffic up in MY country maybe they could have their own 1776, overthrow their current government, live happily ever after, AND STOP FORCING ME TO PAY TAXES TO COVER YOUR SORRY ILLEGAL POSTERIORS!!!

If you are concerned about illegal immigration nobody is doing more than Presidential candidate Tom Tancredo. While he is a long shot, he can FORCE the other candidates to deal with and talk about the problem.

Contribute to his campaign today and help get his message out! http://www.teamtancredo.org/

If they still want to come to the good 'ol US of A they can go through the proper channels and pay taxes like everyone else.
AND STOP FORCING ME TO PAY TAXES TO COVER YOUR SORRY ILLEGAL POSTERIORS!!!

One thread I notice in this and other immigration-related arguments is the whole "not paying taxes" complaint. Note that many of those working here illegally would probably be more than happy to pay taxes if it meant they didn't have to look over their shoulder for the INS. We won't let them pay taxes. So we can complain all we want about them being here in general, but really complaining that they don't pay taxes is pretty silly.

That's before we realize that they do pay many taxes, from property taxes (directly or indirectly) to sales taxes and, in some cases, even SS taxes and payroll taxes. But whatever.

Oh, and the whole "they should go back and come here legally" argument doesn't necessarily hold much water either, since given our current quotas and the number of people who want to come here for work it simply wouldn't be possible for a majority to ever come here legally. So that one rings hollow, too.

I'd like to take this opportunity to invite those unhappy with the way things are in their country that have come to my country illegally to do like our founding fathers(and mothers)did and do something about their own situation in their own country.

The founding fathers may have been real "go-getters," but I know that my ancestors, and the ancestors of most Americans, didn't achieve the standard you're asking of these people. They fled here from the four corners of Europe, just like everybody else.

Well folks, it will be Cinco de Mayo in a few days...love that holiday...festive, cultural....great food and drink...thank the Lord for immigrants.

I have no problem with immigrants. I have serious issues with illegal immigrants. I've lived in Poland, Germany, and Russia. I went through the channels to be there and do the job I was hired to do there. My company hires a lot of seasonal immigrants--every spring we run a block app for J-1 and H2B visas. Several of my best employees and long-term great friends come back every year like clockwork. They go through the proper channels and work damn hard to do things the right way. That I can respect; I've been on both ends of that issue.

As for someone who sneaks in---they have no right to be here---PERIOD. I look at it as a larger version of my house. If I invite someone into my house, it goes without saying that they will have all the hospitality I can offer. But for someone who sneaks into my house, the nice version would be to say they'll get my work boot in their backside on their way out the door. These illegal protests are about the same as someone who has snuck into my house and then comes into the livingroom yelling at me for not having their dinner ready or a cold beer in the fridge for them while they lounge in my chair. So they want to help chip in a little for groceries after the fact (pay taxes)? They snuck in to begin with! They're not invited, they're not on the guest list, and they don't get a place setting at the table! End of story--they're out just as fast and far as my size-11 boot will move them.

There are procedures. They aren't that difficult or overly complicated, but they take time, effort, and there are limits. If they can't get here the right way, they have no right to make demands after breaking all the rules to come here anyway. Get them out--all of them--asap. Then open the flow of legal immigrants who HAVE put the effort and time into trying to get here the right way.

EDIT: And yes--for the times I lived overseas, I DID learn the native languages enough to function day-to-day and be able to hold a general conversation. I'm no linguist by any means. If I can learn Russian and Polish/Slavic within a couple months, then incoming (LEGAL) immigrants can damn-sure learn English and use it here.

When I say pay taxes I mean it both literally as well as metaphorically. While I expect everyone who enjoys the freedoms of this country to support it financially. I also expect people to assimilate into our culture. Learn to speak English. If you want to waive a flag while you are here it better be Old Glory. And you will be a productive member of society. If you don't like the way things are run here you have two options. 1) Become a citizen and vote. 2) Go somewhere else.

If I moved to some other country I would learn their language. I wouldn't expect to be able to press 1 for English. If I made money in that country I would file taxes in that country. I expect everyone else to do the same.

We can stop em

but the rich don't want to and that is the problem. The rich and the party of the rich, the Republican party want them here as cheap labor. All of the jobs they could not export they now want to be available to cheap immigrant labor. Guest worker program? They do the jobs Americans won't do. Its like a bird feeder. If you quit putting the bird seed in it the squirrels will leave it alone. As long as our Republican (super rich corporate elite owned government) is in place corporations will be able to hire ILLEGAL aliens without penalty. These jobs obtained ILLEGALLY are the BIRDSEED and the aliens are the SQUIRRELS. If our above mentioned bought and paid for government wanted them to quit coming they would fine the people who employ them at least $100,000.00 per illegal alien found by agents of the government who would be actively investigating all companies who employed persons not of American birth and the SQUIRRELS would soon quit coming.

Good honest comment. Try this site.

Sorry, but they don't get a free pass just because they are already here. If I cut in line at the super market they aren't going to let me stay there just because I'm already there. Suppose you had came to this country legally, gone through all the proper paths, paid whatever fees there are and then all the illegals that are here are suddenly given a free pass just because the are already here. Wouldn't you be pretty pissed off? I would.

I say give the immigration issue a rest....least of my problems. I suggest we focus on the real and pressing issues facing our nation...terrorism, drugs, outsourcing of jobs, taxes, inner city decay and crime, homelessness, government and corporate corruption, AIDs, public "education" or the lack thereof, needless, but profitable wars, the environment ....heck, I'm pretty well off, and I'm a Democrat, and immigration has never been on my radar of concerns. There are a host of issues that create a greater threat to our instability as a nation, and immigration is not one of them. For those who think it is, I say get out of your doom's day bunkers, get rid of your WMD's, trade in your johnny commando 4x4's for something environmentally friendly, and soak in the sunshine; it's a brave new world out their, and there's nothing you can say or do that's gonna' stop it. Welcome to America.

Don't forget...it's Cinco de Mayo Saturday...thank an immigrant for his service.

Hmm. This doesn't seem to sync up for me. It's Republicans and the Republican party that have been the more stringent when it comes to illegal immigration (not that they're that stringent, just that they're vastly more so than the other party). I feel you just used this to get back up on your same old silly soapbox. Why is it that the Republican party is the one that is fighting immigration more than the opposition?

:barf:
Make a point here, I really don't see the connection.

They are here ILLEGALLY. And in many cases, thats just the beginning of the ILLEGALITIES that they commit.

Falsified social security cards, phony I.D.'s,driving w/out a license and no insurance, just to name a few.

Free healthcare and educations, its a hell of a deal.

They ARE going to get amnesty. The jig is up, the ILLEGAL gimmegrants are taking over.

Criminals are just that. Criminals. Put them in jail or otherwise punish them. Since when can we pick and choose the laws we break and can get away with? Why should they be able to.

Illegals. I won't miss them if they dissappear.

Theres enough America to go around.
No, there really isn't--not without some level of control. The Eastern US is virtually elbow-to-elbow. And while there are still a few places here in the western US that aren't completely encroached upon my a wall of humans, I'd really like to keep it that way. An open acre of land is NOT an automatic sign that it needs to be filled up with people--especially whena large percentage of those people have no regard for the laws and culture OF that land.

there is enough America to go around, share. All the illegal and legal immigrants I know are very nice and fun people.

Y'all know something, I'm now seriously (not being sarcastic) wondering if RHD-1 Rotorhead has been putting us on all this time. He is displaying absurdity by being absurd. He is really against illegal aliens and sees it as the problem that it is and is demonstrating the idiocy of the left wingers and neocons by presenting himself as a caricature of their propaganda and cultural marxist tactics (political correctness).:)

That's what this above post says to me.:) It's just too transparent. Nobody can seriously believe all that. He really had me going there for a while.

Really? What about the ones here that have killed people drunk driving? What about the ones in prison that shouldn't even been here to commit a crime to begin with?

Personal experience:

I have a friend that is a police officer that I went on a ride along with. He pulled over a truck that had no city decal, no inspection sticker, and the driver had no DL. Per that agency's policy he was let go when the officer determined he wasn't DUI. I wonder if I would have been afforded the same leeway?
