Going Back To The Wild West In A Time Machine.....?

I laid back and followed this thead for a while and had to do alot of thinking on this one and finally picked my Colt SAA 5 1/2" 357 Magnum. The holster is an older Hunter that my older brother gave me as a joke on my 50th birthday one year with a Daisy Peacemaker stuffed in it. Little did he know the gun turned out to be worth $90.00 and the holster while not very western looking is one of the best working holsters I got. I think i could do very well with this set up and maybe turn a few heads at the same time. I'm sure that the 45 Colt would do just as well and even better in some instances but then again the 357 would shine on others. Sorry I just cant resist showing a picture.

Hmm?

Some observations: This is a silly but fun fantasy thread. My fantasy was to go back to the pacific and bask in the luxury of a harem of beautiful young Tahitian Woman, TylerD45ACP's fantasy was to shoot Mexicans with a 1918 BAR. Does this say something about our inner psychies? and if so what? Admittedly I went off the reservation by going to the pacific, but technically it is the "West".

Just joking Tyler, no need to come after me with pitch forks and tar torches.

No its fine all in good fun. I just would love to see the tables turned with future weapons :D. Some one else mentioned the Thompson too and it got me thinking about weapons to use.

I would certainly take a good Peacemaker and a double shotgun...then probably croak of tetanus cutting myself on my barbed wire fence, or influenza, or tuberculosis, or bitten by a rattlesnake without antivenom, or getting squashed when the horse bucked. That'd be my luck...:)

Since I'm the OP, and all you guys wanna be taken more than just one revolver, I've decided what I'm gonna be taken then (Pic)

I am going to take along my Remington Model 1858. It is perhaps one of the greatest pieces of machinery ever made, built to function.

I hear that, Imagine opening up on Santa Ana's men with a B.A.R/ Browing M2 Ma Duse/ M249/ Tommy Guns/ a plethora of MP5's and M4's (and many more just tired of listing them ) for all our men. Also they should each have a modern pistol on their hip like the 92FS or G19.

OOOOOH you should read "1632" by Eric Flint. He wrote sequels too, but if you want the utterly brutal scenario of olden warriors going up against the meatgrinder of modern weaponry, "1632" packs the ultimate adrenaline hit.

Think M-60 7.62 NATO mowing down a horde of conquistadors and knights.

I just saw Cowboys & Aliens, and I have to say I would choose a freedom arms revolver in something with an atrocious thump.

As a side note: The movie was by no means deep or surprising, but if you want a simple action flick with James Bond and Indiana Jones, it will do you right.

Hey, Publius, . . . make sure that is one of those 2 seater versions, . . . I wanta go with you, . . .

I couldn't care less how many of the bg's we smoke, . . . just wanta protect an old cousin of mine, . . . Davey boy, . . . you know, . . . the Crockett guy.

Can you see the bg's faces on the second pass? Probably not, . . . mostly only see backsides heading South, . . . :D

May God bless,
Dwight
