best revolver you have ever owned/shot

S&W 627 Pro Series ; if a revolver is highly accurate , comfortable to shoot , and has a very decent trigger & action....how can you not love it ! :)

I have 2 matching Colt SAA. .45 Colt, 5 1/2" barrel, blued, lightly tuned. I won the top shooter in South Texas with'm. I open carry them when that is appropriate.

I guess I have about 25 revolvers in my safe now...( almost all S&W ) ....but the top 4 revolvers I own are ...:

a. Freedom Arms, 4 3/4" octagonal barrel, large frame, 5 shot in .357 mag

b. S&W Model 27-2 Nickel 4" revolver ( .357 mag )

c. S&W Model 27-2 Blued 6" revolver ( .357 mag )

d. S&W model 29-1 Nickel 8 3/8" revolver ( .44 mag )

I love them all ....but its hard to pick just one favorite from this group...and I like my other model 27's, 29's, 18's, 19's, 617's, 66's and 686's too....

I have had sooo many nice Colts,S&W, etc... But his one has to win by default for real world perormance.

I am not as big on revolvers anymore. I had two that were my favorite. I sold both and do so etimes regret it. The first was a Taurus 44, 44 magnum with a 6" barrel. The other is pictured below, a 1968 Colt Python 2 1/2" barrel.

No question, my 4-inch 686+ ... plenty of weight to deal with recoil from full-house .357 rounds, soft shooting with even hot .38Spcls ... accurate, clean trigger from the factory ... my favorite revolver by far ...

My duty weapon from my days on embassy duty. A State Dept issue SW Model 19 snubby. Qualified expert with it too. A shame they don't make the M19/66s any more. Should have gotten one when I had the chance.

I like Colts, but I like S&W more. I think the model 58 in .41 mag that's still with me is my best. I've had two Security Sixes that shoot really straight, one I still have, but Smith model 19s shoot as well, with better fit and finish.

Ruger NM Single Six with a 6 1/2" barrel and a action tune, using the Mag cylinder and Winchester 22WRF cartridges.

Well, I'm sure its one of these:

Or, if not, surely one of these:

Weel, I dunno, going to have to study on the question awhile!

My best ever was a nickel S&W Model 57 with 4" barrel. It pointed for me like an extension of my arm and had the best trigger pulls I've ever felt on a double-action. They measured 2.5 pounds single action and 8 pounds double action. I bought the gun used, and always wondered who did the trigger job. It was burglarized from my house 20+ years ago. Bummer!

Hands down, my 25-2. It was unfired when I picked it up a few years ago. It isn't anymore. Perfect weight, trigger, balance, accuracy. The best target revolver ever made. Not too hard to look at, either.

My S&W 629-4 .44 Magnum.. Its super accurate even when I may not be shooting my best... this is my most recent grouping. 12 Shots, 15 Meters Distance, 10 Bullseyes and two pulled 1.5" left of center... Now thats my idea of "Gun Control"!!!!!

I absolutely agree. Mine isn't quite as pretty as yours, but it will still put 10 shots in one no-so-ragged hole at 25 yds. if I do my part (which is getting increasingly more difficult with older eyes).
