best revolver you have ever owned/shot

The best revolver I ever shot was a Dan Wesson 357 with the interchangeable barrels. It had an action job and was so smooth. The best revolver I ever owned believe or not was a Ruger Super blackhawk. I sent it to JD Jones at SSK industries and he did his magic on the action and magnaported it. Why did I ever trade that gun?

For me the S&W K38 Masterpiece / Model 14 and 15s IMHO are the pinnacle of the .38 special revolver. They just feel perfect in my hand, point naturally and are extremely accurate. I have shot many over the years and have yet to find one that does not shoot better than I do, If i could only have one handgun it would be a K38 Masterpiece.

My wife's Lady Smith 60 in .357. Although she rarely loads it with .357 rounds, first times she shot a cylinder full....... was the last time. :D

Best Shooter/Best Loved

I have a S&W Model 60 with a 5" barrel that has some sort of psychic connection to the target. It's just amazingly accurate, even w/.357 Mag.
With .38 Spl. it's just got to be shot to be believed.

But I have never owned any revolver that I love more than my S&W Model 29-1
(6-1/2" bbl.). My father bought it for me, new, in 1960, for my 14th birthday.
He said, "if you can shoot that beast, I'll buy it!".

Long before "Dirty Harry" was ever even envisioned, that 44 Mag. was my handgun of choice. And I still keep it in the original box with the blue satin lining!

Best I own is a Ruger SP101 with a 4" barrel.

Best I've shot is a well worn S&W 686 (4" also) equipped with Crimoson Trace and a great trigger. That thing is money.

Parkerized and now wears factory Pachs. Python.

Not a specific model number,,,

But any K-frame S&W could easily be my all-time favorite revolver.

I'm a huge fan of the Model 15/67 Combat Masterpiece in .38 Special,,,
I'm also completely in love with my Model 18 in .22 LR.

Agreed. The perfect size IMO. That is why I gravitate to the Security Six in the Ruger line-up.

For accuracy? My 6" Security Six gets the vote.

Little known/often overlooked S&W 65LS Lady Smith. Unique blend among K's of vaunted 3", fixed sight, full lug/shroud, satin stainless. Pre lock, pre transfer bar--as most are. Outstanding gun and the best K Frame made IMO.

Other "bests":
- TOOTGWME (the other one that goes with me everywhere): S&W 431PD .32 H&R scandium snubbie. J Frame goodness.
- - Most fun (by far): Ruger Single Six .32 H&R Mag--in all its incarnations since 1984, but currently own a trio of "Vaqueritos."
- Overall ("emotional" choice: caliber/cartridge, format, charm, DFF (daily fondle factor), OIWMTM (one I would miss the most); a tuned and custom gripped Ruger New Vaquero .44 Special "Sheriff" 3.75" polished stainless, w/ Montado hammer swap--and I'm not normally a big polished stainless or short barrel fan in an SA. Close runner up: same in blued 4-5/8". Would/will be at least tie for top with a planned CCH job.

Best Single Action of all time: Colt SAA

Best Double Action of all time: S&W 627-2 Performance Center 8 Shot .357
