best revolver you have ever owned/shot

4" SS Security Six. Most accurate handgun, rimfire or centerfire, I have shot let alone owned and a great SA pull. Light for a full size revolver, still capable of the stoutest loads.

I don't think I've ever owned a "bad" revolver. If I had to pick one, I probably couldn't. I've owned Smith & Wessons, Colts, Rugers, Taurus, Harrington and Richardson, Charter Arms, Dan Wesson, and probably one or two I can't remember off the top of my head.

I will say however that the Smith & Wesson "N" frames overall have been the ones I like best. When I sold off most of my collection I kept two that I really like and shoot well.

I have alot of revolvers, but one comes to mind as having the "crispest" trigger, & coincedentally the nicest double action trigger as well...

can you say "vintage S&W baby" ( early 1955 - 1957 Combat Magnum pre model 19 )

looks something like this...

I'm sure it either has been tuned by the previous owner, or a pro, because I have alot with nice triggers, & nothing compares to this, I'd say it's as close to perfect as you can get...

I have a 6" silhouette model (the one with the four position front sight) 686 that's had an action job and the front of the trigger guard stippled. It is by far and away the best centerfire pistol I've ever owned or fired.

The best rimfire revolver I've ever fired was my buddy's 4" blue S&W Kit Gun. It was a sad day when his truck was broken into and that gun stolen. Close second is my 5 1/2" blue Single Six.

"Best" is such a subjective term,,,

Out of my 34 handguns,,,
It's not so much an individual gun,,,
But a small group of K-frame S&W's I like best.

My Models 15 & 67 are very accurate for me,,,
The K-frame guns fit my hand perfectly,,,
Maybe that's the secret right there.

My Model 12 is an absolute joy to shoot,,,
My Model 18 is my favorite plinker.

I have 22's, .25's, 38 Specials, 9mm's, 357 magnums, 44 Magnums,,,
Probably for me then the best one is my Model 67,,,
It's identical to my Model 15,,,
Just easier to clean. ;)

The Model 15 is my favorite handgun,,,
But the stainless model 67 is so much easier to maintain.

I recently got this S&W 14-3. A real, real dog. The bluing is gone in several spots, an it really looks like it was handled-a lot- with strawberry jam soiled hands. And put away wet. Not satisfied, the previous owner decided he didn't like the way the stocks fitted him, and he smeared the things with plastic wood. A lot of it. Still not happy with the jam/plastic wood combo, he apparently put the gun away, 'cause it seemed to be almost unfired by the time I liberated it, despite the extremely ugly exterior.

Then I took it to the range, and my ugliest gun suddenly turned into the most beautiful! Cloverleaf groups form as if for themselves- this revolver forgives all my sloppiness. Crisp, crisp, crisp trigger. The only other revo I enjoy that much is my six inch Python, but the Colt looks the part. So the ugly 14-3 gets my vote.

I have probably owned a few others over the years that I have forgotten about. All had something about them that I liked at the time. Most on the list were traded for another revolver on the list I liked better at the time, that was also traded for another that I liked better.

For an Airweight J Frame size Concealed Carry Revolver: S&W 442 Pro Moon Clip is on the Top of my List.

For a Mid Size Concealed Carry revolver: 3" 66-2 would be first, followed my my 315 Night Guard.

For Heavy Duty Concealed Carry: 3" S&W 625, and 2.5" 310 NG

For IDPA SSR: My 686-5 Power Custom Combat

For Steel Challange: My 4" 610 No Dash Power Custom Combat

Wifes House Gun: 686-1 Power Custom Combat with Clark Moon Clip Conversion.

Practice Revolvers Mid-Size: 4" 617

Practice Revolver J Frame Size: LCR-22

The ones I have let go that I wished I had back: My Custom 4" Red Ramp S&W 25-2, and my 3" S&W 24

Never owned, but wish I did list: 3" S&W 686-4 6-Shooter

Hard to pick only one when you Conceal Carry, Shoot Steel & IDPA, Plink, Hunt with a revolver, and just like Nice Revolvers in General.

2006: Ruger GPNY, surplus .38spl 4" revolver(DA only)....

In the summer of 2006, I purchased a Ruger GPNY revolver from www.gunsamerica.com . It was brand new, unfired. :)
I paid around $425.00 USD for it. The revolver was DA only & had no spur. It was a .38spl & could not fire .357magnum.
I used it often on armed security posts. I put a after market Hogue Tamer rubber grip on it.
The GPNY was produced by Ruger in 1991. It came with the first yellow Ruger box & NYPD(GPNY) printed owner's manual. The good ole boy & FFL holder in AL told me he cleaned out a old locker/storage area & found a few unsold firearms.
The fixed sight GPNY was a great sidearm & a value. I used the revolver for about 3 years, then sold it due to $$$ problems.

Without a doubt it is my Ruger blued .45 Flattop convertible. Internals were worked over by the late Bob Munden and it shoots like a dream. The medium size frame is just right for .45 Colt. Hardly ever leave for the range without it.

My Best = My S&W 19-4 w/6" barrel, square butt frame and stock target grips.

W/that gun in hand, if I can see it, I can hit it.

Hands down a Ruger 4 inch security six da. Bought new my late ex father in law was a excellent gun smith who worked over the trigger sights basically custom fitted the gun to me as he watched me shoot over about a two day visit.
Best shooting most accurate gun I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Wish I still had it.:(
