Your "some day" gun?

I knew I should have never started reading this thread. Now y'all have got me thinking "I want this one and that one and I'll take one of these, and oh let me not forget to get one of those." Man there sure are a lot of pretty some days. Guess if I had to limit it to just one I'd like the "This is the most powerful handgun in the world and it will blow your head clean off" 44 magnum. Guess the great lines in those movies got me hooked on that baby. Then again I almost forgot the 44 auto mag ""This is the 44 Automag. When used correctly It REMOVES the fingerprints!"

I want an Ohio Ordnance Works 1918 A3-SLR Browning Automatic Rifle repro.
That is the most reasonable one I want that I could possibly eventually obtain.

The one I want that I know I will never get is a Fallschirmjager Gewehr 42. The crazy looking FG-42 that I for some reason love the looks of.

For years my two "some day" guns were a two-tone M1911A1 and an M14/M1A.

I finally got a Colt Special Combat Gov't Model 4 years ago, and I've had my M14S custom Polytech since 1998.

As far as pistols, probably my next two "some day" guns will be:

Sending my Colt M1991A1 to Clark Custom to turn it into a bullseye wadcutter gun with red dot.

Maybe, just maybe one of High Standard's "Camp Perry" model M1911A1 "hardball" service competition pistols, if they have them for sale again at Vendor's Row this year. I've inspected them two years in a row for tightness of fit and been impressed everytime.

Also, I'm starting to wonder if I might shoot a .45 M1911 hardball gun better in the National Matches than the custom M9 Beretta I'm struggling with in my local matches right now.

someday!!!

I would like to have one hand engraved handgun,,,

It could be almost anything at all,,,

But I think if money was no object it would be,,,
A nickel plated Colt SAA with 5.5" barrel and ivory grips.

I would create my masterpiece gunbelt & holster for it,,,
Then I would want to be buried wearing it.

C'Mon grave robbers,,,
Pry it from my cold dead fingers!

Think how the archeologist would feel 10 thousand years from now,,,
When he dug me up with that rig decorating my bones.

Need these two in order to fill holes in my collection:

"My holy grail would be a pair of Bren Tens: a Military/Police (full sized black) and a Special Forces Dark (compact black) in 10mm "

If you have never handled the Military & Police model, I can guarantee you that you will HATE the early 1980's technology black oxide on the stainless frame. It is not like melonite. It actually feels gritty and has almost zero durability. The only reason I have one is because I needed it for my collection. The Special Forces Dark is similar.

So, if you're attached to the all dark finish, be advised.
