Your "some day" gun?

My someday GUN

Holland and Holland double in .500 Nitro express, sadly new they start in the high five figure range, and used are not much less if you can find one.

Well I've owned quite a few some day guns, still do have some, and they just keep changing. Just when I think there's nothing out there that can make me part with my hard earned retirement check, someone out there seems to be reading my mind. I guess maybe a Sig X5 is on my want list or maybe a custom 38 super.

Springfield M1A Scout Squad, high end 1911, Sig 229 Elite, a bunch of S&W and Colt wheelguns, and since I am in CA- an un-neutered AR and AK (my Dad has a pre-ban AR but I want my own!)

Mine would be a companion pair. A S&W Model 57 no dash 7.5 inch barrel, with nice adjustable target sights. With a lever action Marlin Cabine chambered in .41 Rem mag. They would probably make my .41 mag Blackhawk get jellous.:D

No Brainer

1) Colt Python in deep blue 6" with wood grips (without a doubt, the most gorgeous handgun on the planet) I could have bought one new 30 yrs ago for $300! D'oh!

But since I don't have a couple grand to drop on a revolver, here are my other wish list guns

2) S&W 500 mag (A solution with no problem)
3) Mauser single shot 22 German training rifle. I had one. It was very accurate until my older brother made a lamp out of it when I wasn't looking! What a butt munch!
4) Tubbs 2000 match rifle

Fun thread! Thanks!

Just ordered mine!!!

Geting up there in years so no time like the present!

Lost a lot of great hunting ground and now hunting "wide open areas" with deer traffic.

I'm solving the issue of "deer walking by me at 200 yards all the time out of range" with one of these in a 6.5-284 Win.

Should be here in 4-5 months giving me time to work loads and practice.

Kind of a bird of a "different feather" to most here I realize but should give me tons of hours at the range and shooting groundhogs in the summer and "death from afar" during deer season.:)

God bless!

there is only 1 gun i can think of that i would someday like to own. i'm not sure the name but it was used in the movie "dogs of war". it is a a shotgun type weapon with a drum magazine that just unleashes all types of hell. that is my someday weapon.

I hope to God that some day, a reliable automatic chambered for .45 long colt is created for me to buy. The pistol better be able to cycle both cowboy and hot loads alike.

I had my someday gun built last year of course there is always another someday gun. I need a C-Bob 1911 and I want to have a 475 Linebaugh built on a Ruger Bisley.

My wife was nice enough to let me purchase my "some day" gun, a DW CBOB(Dan Wesson Commander Classic Bobtail). Haven't had a single issue with it and it's simply a beautiful firearm. Considering that DW no longer even has the CBOB in it's lineup I consider myself that much more fortunate for purchasing it when I did. If I were to have a new "some day" gun, it would likely be an Ed Brown Kobra.

Like a lot of people in this thread, I would like to say that a high-end 1911 would be my someday gun. However, I realistically wouldn't pay upwards of $1500+ for a gun unless I became rich. So to narrow it down to guns that I actually INTEND to own it comes down to:

1) An 8-shot 357 revolver w/4" barrel by a renown maker (I.E. not a Taurus, as I know they do make them).

2) An AR-15 variant chambered for 5.56 NATO.

So no particular makers, just something of good quality that fits those descriptions.
