Your "some day" gun?

Some Day Gun?

There's 2 I have in mind.

Some day, I'd like to acquire a 6" S&W 29, .44 Mag. Why? Because I want one, and because I'd like to have something suitable for handgun hunting if that is what I chose to do. Oh, and in case SWMBO and I ever decide to do a road trip/camping trip in Grizzly country, it would be more appropriate than the .357 Mag I currently have.

There was once a time when I had the privilege to tote through the woods my grandfather's old Savage 99 in .300 Savage. It had the round counter and everything. Simply marvelous! My uncle laid claim to that rifle, he has it now, but I still want one. BAD.

A Bill Wilson Carry Pistol sent to Robar for internal/external complete NP3 refinishing, and Esmeralda glossy red ironwood burl grips with all the small external parts nitre blued. Serrated back of the slide and rear sight, stippled instead of checkered front and back strap and top of slide. Tritium TFO front sight, black combat rear sight with cocking shelf.

Assuming my unit is still heading overseas, it will be my reward to myself post-deployment.
 
My personal "some day" gun would be a high end, custom 1911 with all the bells and whistles. I do not yet know which one; I just know it want it to be so high end that I almost soil myself every time I shoot it. I cannot justify the kind of cash they demand right now. Especially when I am so happy with my other 1911's...but some day I want one just to have it. I just hope I can get to a point in life where money is not a factor.

I only one a Glock 23 ..... My "someday" gun is a Kimber or Springfield Milspec 1911 .


I don't need all the extra bells and whistles because my "someday" gun will be one that I tweaked and worked on to my specific customizations....



As I told m fiance' today ....

" As tempting as www.rockyourglock.com is ? I'd rather save that money for a 1911 " Show Gun" as this is my workhorse...... "

It actually feels gritty and has almost zero durability. The only reason I have one is because I needed it for my collection. The Special Forces Dark is similar.

So, if you're attached to the all dark finish, be advised.

Yes, thank you I am aware of this. My Brens would only see very occasional very soft use. I just want the black ones.

Also thanks for rubbing my nose in your nice collection. :p How many Jeff Cooper Commemoratives did they actually make?
 
ehh I am going to change one more time.

Now it's Ruger SP101, 3" barrel, 357mag.


Not that I don't want all the other some day, but I will focus on the sp101
 
I want a Barbecue gun someday,,,

There is nothing more sexy to my eyes than a nicely engraved revolver,,,
Something like a S&W Model 27 or maybe a nice Colt Python,,,
It could even be a Colt SAA as long as it is a wheel gun.

Years ago I had an antique engraved revolver,,,
I had to sell it to make some payments on my house.

I've always wanted to own another one,,,
But one I could actually shoot.

That's my someday gun.
 
Lucky me, I own my 'some day' gun, which is an S&W 2-tone long-slide 952. Had Mountain Competition Pistols d&t the slide for a red-dot this past winter and am waiting on a set of thumbrest grips from Nill Griffe (Germany). Have about 500 rounds through it this spring and am starting to work up loads for bullseye shooting. Next up is the trigger. Haven't found a pistol-smith I want to entrust it to, as of yet. Wonderful gun that I hope I can do justice to some day.
