Real Property holds top spot.

Clock and Watch collection holds a distant second.

Cars third (2010 Lincoln Navigator, 1998 F-150, 1967 Rolls Silver Shadow)

Boats maybe close to equal to cars.

Guns are not even close, but they will protect the horological collection, vehicles, boats, real property, family and pets.

i have three vehicles on the road, and another seven that are not.(i collect toyotas and guns)
not even close to the collection.
i did the math a few months ago, and then, i had more in guns than my parents had in the house they bought in 1982.
my daily driver is a 1987 toyota with not quite 250k miles on it.....which brough most of the guns home.

The guns are worth far more than the cars-2, 2007 Yarises and an 88 Corolla.
I bought an 83 Corolla wagon for $500, drove it for 10 years, and sold it for $500. I enjoyed driving a car that was worth less than most of my watches.

I'm a poor man, so all my guns combined come out to a worth of about $1050, and my '91 Corolla would sell around here for about 2k, so that would be my car.

Props for an unusual question!

I drive a 2004 VW Jetta Diesel wagon with over 100,000 miles on it.
And This:

My dad had it before me. Been in the family since 1960.
Its a '54 Jaguar XK 120M Drophead coupe.
I think its worth just a little more than my firearms. ( at this time)

Since my collection covers my family since the first Pasley came to the US of A to present. Yes my collection is worth far more than my cars.

Neither are worth a whole hell of a lot *lol*. The guns are nice but modest in count, and the car is a 12 year old Volvo. Not that I have any money, but any "serious money" goes into my 401K account or my house.

Hrm...since I had several bad habits before I got married last year...
My vehicles are currently worth more than my gun collection...

Mind you, I've got quite a few vehicles...

I drive a 2007 Dodge Charger that I bought used (got a hell of a deal on it). It's getting close to the 30,000 mile mark now (I've only put around 4,000-5,000 on it). It's definitely worth more than my gun collection, but I'm working on changing that :D. Got a few Colt's planned for future purchases that should help level the two values out.

My collection

because i drive a 1991 bonnieville that i paid 700.00 for almost 3 years ago.My second car is my 2000 windstar minivan that was a hand-me-down present from my parents when we had our 3rd son.

I have a crazy uncle that lives in Moorehead, IA. He paid $450k for his house/land. He probably has 5 Ford trucks (1960's-2007), two of the newer Thunderbirds with under 5k miles on each, all kinds of other stuff...a snomobile he's never ridden (paid like 7.5k for it.) Anyway, his gun collection is worth more than all his other assets combined. He's one of those guys with several sets of guns. Like African Safari sets of 5 Model 70's, O/U sets of 410, 28, 20, 16, 12. Probably has over 200 Model 70's, no less than 80% being pre-64. He's literally a crazy person.

My gun collection is currently worth more than my car, btw...as my current car is an '02 Taurus w/ like 160k on it...doesn't take much.

Fun thread, btw.

My collection is actually worth more than all 3 of my family's vehicles. Its hard to get rich buying new cars every 5 years or leasing cars every few years. I'd much rather drive a beater and have my guns. This partial group of my handguns is worth more than both of my cars, a 1998 Grand Am and 1996 Integra.

KBB says my car is worth 15K. That's about what my collection is worth.I know this because I keep a binder, called appropriately "My Gun Book", for insurance purposes and for my wife, (in case I croak), that contains a picture and some vital info on each gun I own. This way she'll have an idea of what each gun as well as my whole collection is worth. I do this because she has no interest what-so-ever in my hobby and would be completely in the dark as the real values. Each gun has such info as; cost, accessories added, where purchased and when, condition, serial number, caliber, date manufactured, and so on

This is such a good idea...not only the insurance accountability in case of loss, but so many of our beneficiaries don't have a clue. It's a gift of sorts! Believe me--have been through the hassle of left-behinds. Doesn't matter what value...big PITA for all involved.

I have a 99 dodge Neon that I paid my Uncle $1 for that is I sold I could get $1,000 for, so I would say my gun collection is worth more.

My vehicle is worth about $16,000, and is worth less and less every day. My firearms are worth a good bit more than that, and become more and more valuable every year.

It's really hard to find finely crafted, American made mechanical things. Firearms are the exception. I think some American made guns rival any firearm ever made in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy and Japan. Note, I said "some", which notably excludes shotguns.

Car. It's very close math if I compare to the resale of my 2004 Saturn Ion (Curse you, GM!!!); my truck is a Tacoma and that wins far and away.

My collection started as a C&R of WW2 vintage and that would have bee more than my car. I have since devolved to a "what do I use?" collection.
I'm down to 2 pistols, 2 hunting rifles, a muzzle loader; a home-made biathlon rifle. A bolt-action .22 rifle. A single-shot shotgun someone gave me.

I'd much rather drive a beater and have my guns.

That pretty much sums it up for me. I drove the same car for 14 years and put 220,000 miles on it. I would still be driving it if it could have passed inspection but the rust ate the frame out from under me. Picked a replacement up for $2000 at auction and my collection is still 4-5X the value of the car.
