My gun collection is probably worth more than both of my vehicles put together, but then again both of my vehicles are 20+ years old (1987 BMW and 1989 Honda).

I have bought individual guns that were worth more than the car I was driving at the time!:D

However, today I am driving a newer car (06), but considering that it sold for $12k+ and I will have paid $16k by the time its paid off, and the fact that it is probably worth about $8K (or maybe less) right now, AND that I have a pistol case in front of me that is holding about $7K (that I paid) and if sold would probably bring nearly half again as much, and its only part of my collection, then yes, my guns are worth more than my car.

Also, some of my collection has been with me for nearly 40 years, and are not likely to get worn out by my use (unlike my car).

Its about priorities. Last month, I spent about 1/4 the amount I still owe on my car for a rifle and two revolvers. I'll get more daily use out of the car. I'll get more enjoyment out of the guns! And, when I am done with the guns, they will be worth more than the car will be, when I am done with it! Odds are, the guns will be worth more than I paid for them, as well!

ha ha!! depends on if you count only my daily driver or the other 9 cars!

well even still its the gun collection!

but then things are only worth what somebody else will pay for them so... who knows;)

I voted gun collection because I am more likely to sell my truck off. That and shes a bit of a beater with 186K on the odometer but is rusty and trusty!

My car is a Saturn that I bought new a couple of years ago before the Great Recession and before they discontinued the dang thing, so even if I only had ONE Colt Python my collection would be worth more!

Me? My guns, but thats because I drive an old car, my guess is that my guns are worth but a few hundred more than my Nissan.
For an owner that may have about four or five guns, and drives a car thats anywhere from 1-7 years old, the car will be worth more

I drive a 1995 dodge dakota bought new, with only 50K miles on it. It's a banged up old working truck, and probably not worth the gas in the tank.

I also drive a beat up old accord that is apprx the same vintage. My wife, however, drives a newer, much nicer camry. (i can stand an old car, but I can't stand seeing her driving one.)

My collection is small, and probably not worth squat as it is mostly older, common pieces, and nothing spectacular except the custom wood I put on. Smith combat masterpiece .38, colt trooper .357, Hi-power, 700 in .243, 700 mountain rifle 30-06, xp100, Garand, two springfields, etc...

So, I have a truck worth a couple thousand, and a collection that's worth about that much.

Unlike most, my car....

but only because I just bought a newer Mustang that lists for around 14K - within a few years my collection will be back on top as it appraises for "around" 7k. To my credit, I paid nowhere near 7k for all my guns as a lot of them were bought by my dad and grandfather up to 30 years ago and have just been lovingly taken care of - increasing in value with each liberal president....ER, I mean each decade that goes by. Haha.

I wouldn't call my guns a 'gun collection' - that implies that they are high dollar or rare. Mine are all working guns that get carried or used at the range regularly. I also have some hunting long guns and a flintlock that don't get used that often anymore, since I don't hunt nearly as much as I did when I was younger. All together, they are worth a lot more than my '96 Nissan pickup with 250,000+ miles on it.

I haven't had much incentive to buy a newer truck - I get 28 mpg and don't feel like blowing $20,000 or more to get a newer model that gets poorer mileage. Anyone who would be impressed by me driving a fancy new truck is someone I don't need to impress.

Well since I'm only 21 and still in college, "my collection" is all of three guns, a Smith and Wesson M&P 40, a Taurus PT-22 and a Remington Speedmaster .22 rifle that I inherited from my uncle.

My car is a '07 Nissan Sentra, so the car is worth quite a bit more than the guns.

However, I hope to use some of the disposable income that I earn at my job to add more guns to the collection ;).

Fear the man who's gun collection is less valuable that his vehicle :D

But seriously.. my vehicle is worth more than all of my guns.. but Im just a college student so both are pretty measly

I have 1 2000 ford car...less than my gun collection
I have 1 2000 Chevy car...more than my gun collection
And 1 1986 Chevy truck.....worth more than the whole lot

And some day i hope to have more in gun value than vehicle value

Dang, just one of my guns, NIB, is worth more than my truck. Granted, a drive a '91 Silverado with 300k miles on her, but still.
