Why do you love revolvers?

To hell with you WildBill! Lol Im sure you are kidding, as am I. :D
Revolvers definitely suck, pieces of crap they are...

I guess I like e'm..because they are a mechanical contradiction...all your life, youv'e been told a precision chambered rifle is necessary for top accuracy..chamber/leade/ rifle bore must be perfectly on same plane..then here you have this revolving chambered thing..that depends on a spring loaded bolt popping up at just the right moment to lock everything more or less in place..each part with it's own set of tolerances,, and play. When the big light comes on..the bullet has a relatively long running start towards what is essentially a funnel...jumps a narrow gap..and slams into a bore filled with sharp lands and grooves..and must began spinning about it's axis..all in a millisecond...and the fact that these things can be so bewitchingly accurate...keeps me comming back for more!...I love the crazy things!

Because when it hits the fan I know without a shadow of a doubt if I pull the trigger the hammer is going to drop and im going to get 5 rounds as fast as I can work the gun. No locking in the magazine. No pulling the slide and hoping it loads.

1. Most good revolvers are more accurate out of the box than service grade semi-auto pistols

2. They seldom fail to fire and if there is a bad ctg, go to the next chamber.

3. I don't have to pick up my brass. I dump them into a gallon ice cream tub and take them home clean.

4. I like all revolvers as long as they are not brand new. I buy older handguns because I think the quality was better "In the Day"

1. no failure to feed
2. no failure to eject
3. no "tap/rack" failure drill
4. Can be loaded with "snake shot" with no concern about feeding
5. can be left loaded forever with no concern over magazine springs
6. will shoot just about any quality of ammo
7. simplicity
8. simplicity
9. simplicity
10. and did I mention they where simple to operate?

I love them because of the way they look, they way they feel, the subtle joy of loading and unloading the cylinder and snapping it into place, and reliable high performance.

I only have one but I've shot many and I'm looking for a couple now.
In no particular order,
1. I love watching (on peripheral vision) the cylinder rotate as I pull the trigger.
2. Revolvers are the most beautiful guns to me.
3. Even though I have many autos, revolvers fit my hands the best.
4. Easy to clean.
5. Easy to catch brass (I reload).

Kinda funny, after typing that out, I have to ask myself, Why I dont own more? :p

1. You can put them in the sock drawer, forget about them for 28 years, pull it out, make sure the barrel is clear and shoot the rounds that you had in the gun!

2. They look good!

3. They feel good in your hand.

4. No mag or recoil springs to wear out.

What's not to love.

I'll add another post to this one since it's still going. For me, as a CCW, a revolver carries much more comfortably than a similarly sized (or even smaller sized) semi-auto. I guess it's just the difference in shape.

For example, I know from experience that I can carry a 4" barreled Taurus 65 more comfortably than my XD40SC, even using the holster that was made for the XD, and the 65 conceals just as well if not better.
