Why do you love revolvers?

As I've gotten older I've tried to simplify nearly everything in my life.
A basic, unadorned revolver is the ultimate in functional simplicity.

No slide stops, ambi-safeties, feed ramps, collet bushings, etc. (and I DO have several automatics but seldom carry them any more.)

All of the above except hunting and playing with......I don't "play" with any gun. However, sometimes I admit to opening up the safe and "fondling" a gun for a few minutes. :D

And I would like to add Beauty. To many people, there is nothing more beautiful than a finely crafted, highly polished revolver.

As a reloader, I simply do not like walking the range hunched over picking up brass. I also like the fact that revolvers can be loaded to MUCH higher pressure than semi-auto's when it comes to hunting rounds.

I like semi-autos too....just not the tacti-cool tupperware. BUT...if tacti-cool is your thing, God Bless and more power to you.

Well, the 3 people I learned the most from as a child all carried revolvers around the farm and woods; my mother, father, and uncle. When I was finally allowed to shoot a handgun, no big shocker that it was a revolver. Needless to say holding a semi just doesn't give me that same feeling. ;) There's just something about the feel of sliding those rounds in to the cylinder and hearing the precise "click" as everything locks up.

Also I'm simply a far better shot with a revolver. If you set up a target at 10 or 25 or 50 or 100 yards and told me I only had one shot to make a clean hit.......a revolver is going to be in my hand without a second thought. I'm often carrying a semi due to convenience, but I think I'll always be a revolver lover by heart.

I love both revolvers & autos and each has it's place. IMO the best HD handgun is the revolver, at least for around the house. You can load them and leave them almost indefinetly with no worries whereas with autos you run the risk of ruining the mag spring. I keep them in a few places around my home and know they will be ready if needed. (no children in the house)
Also, they don't jam and are extremely reliable.

Revolvers are also more visceral than autos, especially single actions.

Also they are easier to clean.

the ultra popular and recommended semi autos for ccw all seem to use 6 shot magazines that cost 40-45 dollars EACH before shipping and handling and sales tax. so that kinda kills the fun factor.

I have an equal amount of revolvers as I do semi's (3 each) but only have about 3 more semi's that I really want, where as the amount of revolvers I want seems to grow by the week.

Revolvers are not for the gun owner who buy guns to impress buddies, look "gangster"/like the guy from the movie or feel the need to blast 15+ rounds as fast as they can every time they step up to the firing line, they are for the gun owner who can appreciate each shot, the classic style and just the way it feels in your hand, like an extension of it rather that something in it.

The revolver to me is on the same line as a bolt action rifle, just more connected to the whole process of the shot rather than just pulling the trigger.

I just do, no brass flying off and cleaning it up. My uncle asks why I am so crazy about revolvers, I just am!. I bought a speed loader for my m94 but really no point in using at the range unless you are carrying it and needed to reload, or drills at the range.
