Why do people dislike glock?

The one and only thing I hate about Glocks is the grip angle. It doesn't allow me to point the pistol very naturally (too high). Still, I'd like a G21.

Seems to me that the ones that can't master the GLOCK don't like them. The fun of entering a GSSF shoot and the nice people you meet there, are just 2 of many reasons to get and shoot GLOCKS.

Exile, there's always someone who doesn't like something. Unfortunately, the small pockets of negative voices, or on the other end of the spectrum - the zealots, no matter how irrational, tend to also be more outspoken, while those who are confident in their decision, tend to have the maturity to sit back and remain silent.

In a larger sense of this, this tendency is what is costing us our 2nd amendment rights. If every gun owner in NJ voted for Schundler, he would have won, our rights would be protected, and we'd even have a good shot at CCW's.

Moving along, there's an old saying: 'You can't be all things to all people', and that applies to guns. Some people like double-breasted suits, and mock people who wear 3 button or vested suits. Just ignore them, and pick what feels good.

Speaking just for myself, I am the type that might not like a gun for myself, but like it for itself. I can see a gun and recognize its positive attributes, in the case of Glocks, their quality in particular. I don't personally care for the Glock for myself, because it just wasn't comfortable in my hand, the trigger action felt wierd to me, and I didn't shoot it as well as some other guns. I don't dislike the Glock, I just like my P99 more. Although, I wish I did shoot it well, and then I'd have an excuse to buy one... like the G26. :D

I recognize the Glock as a superior firearm, worthy of all the praise that's been heaped upon it, and IMO, it's certain to go down in history as one of the most successful designs ever.

I have owned two Glocks. I still own a Glock 17. I have nothing against them at all. I don't shoot it much, but for no particular reason. The one thing I have against them that really turns me off is the threads on these boards about Glocks. It seems to me that anyone that says anything negetive about them is immediately flamed. So many people think the sun rises and sets with a Glock and won't consider any other option under any circumstances. It just becomes obnoxious. The guns themselves are great.

I own and carry a Glock. I love it! Feels perfect in my hand. Never had one single problem-EVER! Always points dead on (never high). I didn't ask the guys advice on Glock, he just felt compelled to give it to me. He also was so nice to tell me that he prefers a real gun. Ahhh..yeah, whatever that is. Perhaps the $1,400 kimber he had straped to him. BTW, he was pissed at the world about that one, because the $700 one straight off the shelf did the same damn thing. He was too opinionated for my taste. I took a look at an AK he had for sale and he was quick to assume that "it had to be the best damn AK I ever did lay eyes on". Yeah, ok...let me decide ok buddy? For that and other reasons, I'll stay shy of that establishment ;)

Glock on!

PS...I think that Glocks are beautiful :D No really!

Polymer guns? I like both Sig and Kel Tec better than Glock. But both my wife and brother in law like Glocks, and one of my friends raves about them. They talk about reliability, ease of cleaning, pointability et cetera.

All I can think of is that weird 5.5 pound long pull trigger. Now, I will admit I can hit the X ring when I concentrate, but it just doesn't come as natural as the Sig. After nearly 50 years of shooting SA or DA it is hard to get used to a 1 1/2 A.

Also the lack of an external hammer is bothersome to me. There is no rational reason for it but it is like it should be there but isn't. I don't think it is dislike or hatred so much as just a feeling of overwhelming weirdness.

I don't dislike Glocks. I just dislike those zealous owners that ordered the optional altar as a factory option.

It is the one exception left to 'religious persecution' in this country.

I shoot them quite well, just not as good as SIGS.

Chevy versus Ford, actually.

I don't hate Glock but here is why I don't like them:

a) point unnatural in my hand compared to a SIG/HK
b) trigger pull like a slice of sticky cheese
c) too small, not-ambi mag release
d) too small slide lock
e) mags not ejected fast enough (compared to a USP for example)
f) crappy plastic sights
g) no 2nd strike capability
h) no optional manual safety
i) had to replace a bunch of parts to get a gun which is OK for competition
j) not fully supported chamber (some models keep Kabooming)

They are reliable and excellent CCW or service pistols, but not for me.

Why should...

...somebody have to justify their reasons for not liking some mid-priced line of service autos?

For heaven's sake, I thought that's why they make all different kinds of guns?

Personally, I don'tlike the plastic much... and that trigger pull is about the WORST thing I can think of...

they function well, and I have only ever seen 2 broken Glocks in all my years...but I don't like 'em...

then there is the fact that they have no "style"... all flat, uninspiring surfaces, nothing to "catch my eye"

it bothers me not, if you prefer "Combat Tupperware", bit I'll never buy one...

I own two Glocks (a 36 and a 23C). While they have many superb attributes, they are my least favorite handguns, due to:
> Accuracy -- the trigger/striker feel is unnatural for me and leads to noticeably poorer accuracy.
> Safety -- carrying "one in the pipe" in a Glock is risky for me, since there is no external safety plus no long/heavy DA trigger pull (which in comparison makes revolvers safe, IMHO).

Glocks are an acquired taste, especially now w/ their finger grooved grips  Anyway, ever since my 21 kaboomed on me, I have developed a new respect for them. Now, my only Glock is a 2nd gen 17, which I still shoot often, but takes a backseat to my other poly guns.

I personally HATE Glocks. I just have a problem deciding which one I hate the most.

To be fair, I guess I should limit my candidates for "most hated" to the ones that I actually own and shoot. This means I can only assign "hatred ratings" to the following Glocks:

Glock 17
Glock 19 (actually I have two of these)
Glock 23
Glock 23-C
Glock 27
Glock 21
Glock 34

Dang - this is tougher than it seems, because just about the time I decide on the "most hated" model, I buy another one and have to start ranking them all over again.

Since I'm pretty close to buying a Glock 30, maybe I'll wait and rank them after I've shot a few thousand rounds through it.

Decisions, decisions - life sure is complicated.:D

I like whatever Tamara likes. I have a crush on her:D Actually I prefer SIGs but Glock makes a good weapon. I just don't care for the people who worship the damn thing!!

Ain't it the truth

I see his point. The only Glocks I don't get along with are the ones that apparently came with the optional alter.

I don't know. There is just something about a Glock that I do not care for.

When someone says they have a Glock I tend to look at their shoes to see what it is they stepped in.
:p

Don't like to shoot them much because they fit my hand about as well as a brick with a trigger. I'd get used to 'em eventually, I suppose, but why bother when there are so many other viable options.

Seems like everyone I know has one, just not me.
