Exile, there's always someone who doesn't like something. Unfortunately, the small pockets of negative voices, or on the other end of the spectrum - the zealots, no matter how irrational, tend to also be more outspoken, while those who are confident in their decision, tend to have the maturity to sit back and remain silent.
In a larger sense of this, this tendency is what is costing us our 2nd amendment rights. If every gun owner in NJ voted for Schundler, he would have won, our rights would be protected, and we'd even have a good shot at CCW's.
Moving along, there's an old saying: 'You can't be all things to all people', and that applies to guns. Some people like double-breasted suits, and mock people who wear 3 button or vested suits. Just ignore them, and pick what feels good.
Speaking just for myself, I am the type that might not like a gun for myself, but like it for itself. I can see a gun and recognize its positive attributes, in the case of Glocks, their quality in particular. I don't personally care for the Glock for myself, because it just wasn't comfortable in my hand, the trigger action felt wierd to me, and I didn't shoot it as well as some other guns. I don't dislike the Glock, I just like my P99 more. Although, I wish I did shoot it well, and then I'd have an excuse to buy one... like the G26.
I recognize the Glock as a superior firearm, worthy of all the praise that's been heaped upon it, and IMO, it's certain to go down in history as one of the most successful designs ever.
