who do you think makes the ugliest rifles?

Hi-point 995 carbine. Mine was so ugly that I didn't let anyone see it until I put an ATI stock on it.
I know how you feel, and was waiting to see when Hi-Point would show up in this thread. I have a 995, and will gladly admit that the factory stock is just horrible, but it works fine and keeps costs down. I put the ATI on mine too, along with a couple other things, and the reactions I get at the range are much different now. :p

yap they did but there still ugly lol ha ha

They were very popular, did you know Wild Bill Clinton drove one around Ark in 74 when he ran for gov first time? or that G.W.Bush drove one while achieving his masters degree?

Its how the thing works that I care about :) performance.

Either Hi-Point or Kel-Tec. Just because they are ugly doesn't mean I don't want one however. There is a difference between ugly and cool looking. Most people might say for instance that some $3000 skeet gun is good looking but I think it is by no means cool. When I buy guns I perfer coolness to looks. Sometimes you can even have both.

im sorry and dont mean anything by it but it didnt do much for it lol
LOL, that's ok. As much as it's the same gun as before, and you can still see the unmistakable Hi-Point outline, it's still different. The ergonomics improved far more than the looks if you ask me. Also, I clearly didn't buy my 995 for it's looks. I bought it because I was looking for a great plinker at a great price, and it came highly recommended. I can attest to its fun factor, but my friends would do so even more, because once I let them shoot a couple mags, they never want to give it back. I let a new friend shoot it last week, and his first words after were "what's it called again, and where can I get one?" :p

Most wood rifles have the same dark brown, ugly, character-less wood in them that I don't like. I like synthetic or really good wood. crappy or unoriginal wood is a no-go. I like blond, red or anything that adds to the gun. But the same ole', same ole just gets boring.

"pull it back farther Jacques, the boche is running away!!" :D

Rossi handi rifles are butt ugly. I also thought the original M16s were uglier than sin. You'll never see a crack military rifle team twirling M16s.

Ugliest gun

My old Savage 12 with the ugliest synthetic stock ever made and stainless fluted barrel. But with 40 gr Blitkings over 35 gr Varget that thing shoots really nice. I been thinking about pimping that up with a laminated stock from Richards. Then I went and ordered a Bell and Carlson duramax that is advantage camo. :D That will probably rate about -6 on a scale of 1 to 10 for some of you picky old snobs. ;)

Beautiful to me is little bitty groups every time you shoot.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I've seen some rifles I don't like, and I've seen some babies that make Winston Churchill look cute. I'm not going to tell the rifle's owner or the kids parent's.

"Man that's Ugly"

:D:D

I must be one of the few people who thinks Savages look good, especially the classic. Anyways I'd say the ugliest would be the Remington 770/710 and any of the guns that seem like they're trying to make them have futuristic lines, like the x-bolt, super x3, etc.

Those semi-auto rifles that Remington put out for awhile, the model 8 I think? Hideous. But a 35Rem Model 8 would make one hell of a brush gun for elk, in my opinion. But so would a Marlin 336, and it looks waaaaaaaaaaaaay better!

There are others. Mosins look pretty lousy but they are fun.

Kel-Tec carbines are pretty ugly.

Dragunov stocks look hideous to me as well, no matter what they are on.

Savage even thought their tack drivers.

Yep, some of them had 390 ford engines and were scary fast.

Also I 110% with out a doubt will garentee that Ford never built ANY AMC motors, although the same displacement they are completely different from the Ford FE series, look at the heads on the two, on the ford FE the lifter valleys are part of the intake(one of the few motors to do so) the AMC heads are "normal" if you will. I own 5 or 6 ford FE's, 3 mustangs, and way to many parts. And again I can say with out a doubt that the AMC motors are completely different.

Ok back to guns powder and bullets.:D

The Savage 100 series action is a butt ugly action, and the barrel nut is a pimple on that butt ugly action, IMO.

There are several I've seen which make me cringe, but these are Jennings or Bryco pistols, and some H&R revolvers.

Though they haven't been made for many years, the Winslow Arms Company used to offer some pricey, well-made and finished rifles that would make a full-blown, "California" styled Weatherby look conservative and classic in comparison. Yes, looks are subjective by definition but the Winslow rifles, imo, almost made the old adage "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" irrelevant in meaning. If I had to hunt in public with a Winslow, the first thing I'd do is to have a custom-made, plain paper bag to hide it with. :D

Ugliest rifle? Anything built by Saiga

And I too have to add to the Gremlin thing: AMC absolutely didn't use Ford engines, and a casual look at one of their engines will show it, after all the FE family of engines are very very distinctive in design.
