Which handgun that you personally own does your heart like the most?

Favorite gun

My Glock 21. Its the gun I used a LFI in 2004 and still one of the guns I shoot the best even though I have several newer Springfield XDs

I have revolvers and pistols in several calibers but the answer would have to be the gun I shoot the most. My S&W model 10 four inch heavy barrel.
Had a smith lighten and smooth the inerds to a very smooth action and it's my favorite range practice gun. Accurate, light recoil and quick follow ups and I don't have to chase the brass.

I love my Coonan Classic. I have always been a 357 magnum fan. All of my Guns are 45/70, 357 magnum, 22 or 12ga.

I have loved the style of a 1911 for a long time. While the Coonan is not a true 1911 it is certainly a 1911 style gun. It gives me the opportunity to use ammo that I all ready have and reload for in a type of pistol that I have never owned before.

It is also very cool that the Coonan shoots bullets about 150 FPS faster than any of my 6 inch revolvers. As far as FPE I would put my Coonan up against a 10mm with the same barrel length any day.

My second Choice is the Magnum Research BFR in 45/70 and 450 Marlin (it came with 2 cylinders)

While I enjoy all my firearms, without a doubt my favorite is this one:

S&W Model 28-2 "Highway Patrolman" .357 Magnum

While not my first handgun, it was my first revolver and I've yet to find any handgun, revolver or auto, that I can shoot better. While it's not shot as often as it used to be, every time I pick it up it's like shaking hands with an old friend. If I were ever to have to use a handgun to fight for my life, this is the one that I'd want in my hand.

My S&W Model 10-8. It was a police trade in at the evil pawn shop, and I haggled them down to $250. The bluing on the barrel is a bit worn and there is a dot of rust on the side, but after handling it, I HAD to buy that gun. Got it home and cleaned it up, removed the stock wooden grips and put a set of Houge grips on it. Very smooth in single or double action and i can't miss with it. I have a high capacity semi auto in .45 that may be more tacticool, but that old Smith is my hands down favorite.

Many have came and went over the 13 years I've owned handguns but this one was my first and will never go anywhere....

I still like my first handgun best.

The picture makes it look blued, but it's stainless steel.

I studied and shopped a long time before deciding on it and I still think I made a great decision. These days I don't shoot it as much as my other guns, but that has nothing to do with how much I like it and a LOT to do with ammunition costs and ease of cleaning.

P229 Stainless Elite: The gun feels like an extension of my body when I hold it, it points naturally, it is not too heavy and it soaks up recoil like nothing else. 15+1 of 9MM 124 gr JHP's is all I need.

Has to be an old Hi Standard HD Military. It has rust and pitting but shoots great and it reminds me of younger days. :)

Flip a coin between my 1911 and 92. Both works of masterful workmanship and art!

I really don't know how to find anything other than the aforementioned to consistently deliver tac-drive-like accuracy (and this is admittedly coming from a good, not great shooter). YMMV but not for me.

-Cheers

Right now, it's this one. It's a Colt 1991A1 Compact that got Clark Customs "Meltdown" package back in '98 and was just recently refinished in a high polish blue by Dietrich Gunsmithy in Otis, ME -

It really should be the S&W Model 10, 2" that my father carried "on the job" for 30 years, but considering my Sigs and 1911s, as well as others, I really, honestly comes down to my 2" Charter Arms, .44 Cal. Bulldog. It ain't the most expensive, the prettiest, the smoothest or the "anything-est."
But, when push comes to pull the trigger, I find this is the gun I carry more and more. Why? The bloody thing just flat shoots every time I pull the trigger and the bullet goes where I aimed.
Can't ask for more than that.
I'm also sure that if I had a Sig 210, that would perform better and would be my favorite. Sadly, I can not economically justify a Sig 210. Dammit.:(
