This Combat Commander started out as a .45 ACP, and I added a 9mm and .38 Super slide and barrel assembly to it. The Marvel .22 LR upper was the last addition and will hold sub 2" gps at 25 yds all day long. Very useful for sub caliber practice...Rodfac

checked SAO because I just got an NAA Pug, .22mag, which is my all-time favorite rimfire ... have had half a dozen, still have a Smith 22a which is fun, but the Pug is just a wonderful little gun, accurate out to about 7 yards, easy to conceal and clean ... I love it ...

Ruger Mark I

Bought new by my older half brother in 1954. He accidentilly shot himself in the leg with it, (flesh wound, not serious) so he left it with my dad and never ask for it back until my dad passed and then gave it to me because he knew how much I thought of the gun. Was the home protection weapon while I was growing up and stayed between the mattress on my dad's side of the bed. Knocked down many meat animals. House fire in 1971 did not help its cosmetic condition and warped the grips. Cleaned it up, put a new set of grips on it and it is still a great shooter, very accurate.

Smith & Wesson 617, which also makes a nice trainer for the 686. It's nice looking, smooth operating and very easy for me to hit what I am aiming at with.

Semi auto.
My favorites in order.
1. Ruger MKII built like a tank, reliable, good quality for the price, accurate. The only negative is the grip angle and non-adjustable sights (on mine).
2. Colt Ace, trigger it's like ball bearings on glass (read that recently in an article in NRA mag and it’s a very good description). Absolute dead on tack driver. Negatives weight and price, but once you own one you will never sell it.
3. Walther P22. Inexpensive, extremely reliable (for me anyway) light and just a ball to shoot. Negatives, metal quality used in construction???? Ask me after I have 10,000 rounds through it, I’m at about 3000 now.

Voted semi-auto.

But, like others, I have a little list:).

I love the .22 and have several. These are my favorites:

1. Baikal IZH35M - Most accurate and most fun .22 I own
2. NAA Mini .22lr - Least accurate and second most fun .22
3. FIE (Italian import) Single Action Revolver - Cheap, almost as accurate as the Baikal and almost as much fun as the mini.

For hiking the woods or carry in case of the aforementioned "rimfire emergency" :D, nothing would beat the S&W 422.

Best,

Will
