I favor my Buckmark. As accurate a pistol as I've yet shot.

Like my Ruger Hunter BUT I saw a 1911-22 Chiappa at the range today. Nice for $300.. Google em.

NOT a conversion-a 22 1911..

Autos in general, this one in particular. But, I'm pretty sure it's just because I don't own a S&W 41. If someone were willing to give me one I'd gladly retract my statement of favorite.

Wow, that's a tough question.

I love my S&W Model 41, but I find myself taking my .22 Mag Model 17 to the range more often. I can't really say for sure that I love the latter more than the former, though. I think it's more that it's almost too easy to shoot the Model 41 perfectly.

I also have a deep sentimental connection to my Model 17, since it was the first gun I ever shot with my dad.

Mark I, II , or III .....

amazing how well it shoots, or I do with it. My Ex, could put 10 holes .. inside of the size just over that of 1 hole at 25-30 yrds. We dug out the bullets because even we didn't believe it. She liked M-16's and throwing hand grenades better in Basic Training .. but hated handguns. I hate it when someone's like that. When I saw her shoot, and with how "little" she shot, I wanted to just put my guns up and go home.

My favs I have in order.

Whitney .22LR semi - dead on accurate and unusual piece
S&W 617 10 shot 6inch - just plain fun to plink with this.
NAA .22MAG my back up ro my BUG pocket carry.
PT-22 fun to shoot when it doesn't jam.

Colt Woodsman in any flavor.

1. It's the exact size a .22 semi auto pistol should be.
2. Designed by JMB.
3. Copied by High Standard, Browning and Beretta.
4. Unlike a pot metal Walther P22, you greatgrandchildren will be able to shoot it.
5. They are C&R eligible regardless of year of manufacture.

Hey Cliff47,,,

I am 98% convinced to order a CZ-75B in 9kmm,,,
And a CZ-75B Kadet for .22 LR plinking,,,
What can you tell me about it?

I would love to hear good and bad stuff.

Ruger Mark I

Ruger Mark I, I have had the advantage of being raised in a rural area with my relatives owning a lot of land around me with the ability to go anywhere without question. Lots of Oak trees with thousands of squirrels running all over the place. Stated shooting with a Benjamin 177 pump rifle and progressed to using my Dad's Remington 22 that he bought for Mom on their first anniversary....I know Mom really appreciated that anniversary gift...At least that is the family story....As a young adult I was able to buy the Ruger Mark I 22 auto. I cannot even imagine how many squirrels I shot (and ate) during that period of time. My Uncle was amazed at how accurate that pistol was and often challenged me to see how far I could take out bluejays. I traded it in for a Ruger 44 mag Blackhawk which was a great pistol also. I currently own and shoot very accurately a Mark II now. Great pistol....... Lemmon

S&W Model 18-3 Combat Masterpiece is my current favourite, probably will remain so. The Ruger Single Six stainless convertible that i traded off to buy my dad a model 617 gets an honourable mention.

i've shot the S&W 22A, 617, Ruger MKII, Ruger 22/45, High Standard, Browning Buckmark, S&W 2206, ColtWoodsman, Walther P22 and the beretta 92 with .22 practise kit as well. Currently I own the practise kit and the Model 18. I've come to the conclusion that .22s are for cheap low recoil practise, so I prefer them to be conversion units or sub caliber versions of my centerfires.
