What would you do with $1000 right now?

I just bought my "some day" gun yesterday off Gunbroker....a Seecamp .380....after shipping/transfer fee it's $1000 even.

I would squirrel it away till prices came down or the economy turns around (if it ever does).Times are gonna get worse before they get better.

$1,000 to spend on a gun?

Easy answer Playboy:
Put the $1,000 down on a Wilson Combat .45 auto, (you will have half of it paid for anyway).

PBP... send me the thousand... and after I spend it... ill let you know what I ended up buying. Thas the only way I know that I would get you a truely genuine answer..

a.) DW 10mm of one model or another, or...

b.) The S&W 329 Alaskan, or...

c.) A Bushy, which model do you like? The M4 A3? OK. Yup.

PBP, I have the same rule; Gun is sold new one is bought with the $$ and maybe a little more= collection is always increasing in value and size.

I was looking for a new gun and I had $700 to use. Unlike you I am into Rifles a little more than Pistols. I have a bunch of both but I enjoy shooting a Rifle a little more than a Pistol.

I just got a Beretta CX4 Storm in 9mm($580). I have a bunch of M92 mags so I figured I would have plenty of magazines for the gun. I have lots of ammo and I reload 9mm. I had a EO Tech that I did not like on my M4 so I put it on there. This a fun Gun! My wife who does not shoot very much loves it. Its very light, recoil is nothing and it is more accurate than I would have thought. Its a fun Neat little gun and fairly economical to shoot. The money left over will go to Reloading components.

If you don't want the CX4, I would go with the FN 5.7, I figure they will be banned soon if not they are cool gun. I got one several years ago and I like it. The only down side to it is its a real pain to reload for and I don't shoot all that much for that reason.

Another thing you could do is put that Grand toward a Reloading set up:D I can guarantee you would love reloading.

buy a cz-82(+/-200),cz 52(+/-160),mossberg500 defense style(+/-250) an sks(+/-300), a mosin(+/-90) and that leaves 100 bucks for ammo plus you have all of your basics covered, or you could buy about 2 of every hi-point ever made lol.but 1k on one piece. Id say go with the sig

As said above get the FN five-seven it is different from your collection as I remember and let's face it, this is the gun that the antis don't want you to have;

Buy a gun p*** off a hippie, buy a pistol designed to shoot ammo whose main merit is piercing body armour and p*** off the hippies, the antis, the Bradys and the current establishment in one easy action.

Plus 20 round flush mags :D

For about $1000 you can get a CZ 75 Tactical Sport tuned by Angus himself at Ghost Holster.

One the left of the Sig X-5 and Blackwater 226 there:

It's the smoothest 9mm I have.

You could get an EMP as well. If you don't already have 2 or 3.

If I had $1000 for a handgun right now, I'd choose one of these three:

S&W 629 classic SS
Used Desert Eagle 44mag
CZ tactical or EAA Witness Elite

I'd go with the 5-7. You certainly have no need for any particular type of gun. I'm confident that your collection pretty well has the bases covered so, if I were in your shoes, I'd get something unusual, a little "exotic". The 5-7 fits that bill nicely.

SIG P220 Elite

I would definitely without a doubt go with the P220 Elite. When I turned 21 it was the first gun I purchased and it was one of the best decisions of my life. I have shot many different gun and would have to say that this is my favorite gun of all time. Its a blast to fire, easy to maintain, and will last forever. The night sights and nitrate finish on mine are amazing as well. Make the right decision and go with the SIG , you won't regret it!

Hey there PBP,

I know you are a fan of stainless pistols and already have plenty of very nice ones. I'd advise you to try a true classic. Meaning an older firearm with a great reputation.

You could get a 60's T-series Belgian made Browning High Power near mint for $1k or less. It'd be a beautifully blued gun, double stack, single action, with a long standing repution for quality. (not easily earned)

A 6" Colt Python is another classic I think everyone should own at least once. Prices on them have been creeping up so $1K may or may not get you a pristine example.

I generally have a mix of classics and utility types in my collection. I gravitate towards single action semi-autos & am saving for a pre 70 Colt GCNM.

Regards,

Darren
