What would you do with $1000 right now?

I have a rule that says if I sell a gun I buy a gun. I try not to make exceptions to this rule so that I do not look back later and regret any sales I made since I always have a new gun to ease the pain...so do not suggest I buy ammo. That is not going to happen. My ammo budget is separate from my gun budget. :)

Recently I parted with my Colt Government 380 after coming to the conclusion I was never going to be able to hit the broad side of a barn with it. This has left me with approx. $1k to spend on a new gun (it sold really high at auction).

I am trying to decide if I should blow the money on a couple middle of the road guns such as a Ruger Security Six and another Smith revolver or if I should buy one really nice gun.

The two I am considering right now are the FN Five-seveN and the Sig P220 Carry Elite Stainless.

I am also considering using the money towards picking up a Bushmaster M4-A3...but I am just not that into rifles.

What would you do in my shoes?

Buy the Elite. I just bought my first p220 today. I can't get Elites here but I got the DAK which I just looove. Do it!

When you get it take pictures of exact proportions so I can print em, cut em out and tape it to my 220 so it looks like an Elite. 1 pic of each side please.

Thanks!

I kinda had the same problem. I purchased a SPS Tac. .308, Mossberg 500A 20" 12g, and a keltec 380. Since I purchased them all at the same time they gave me a pretty good discount.

If I had that much money for one item, I'd go for quality. It really depends on what's already in your collection and the kinds of stuff you like. I'd go for the 220 if that's what you're contemplating. I'll be able to give you a better answer when I get home from the gun show on Saturday and see what I drooled on all day.

I say go for the FN. If I had $1K to spend on a gun right now, I'd personally get the FNP-45 w/ night sights and a few extra goodies to go with it :)

Get the Bushy...M4A3

You will be more into rifles after you get one...

Too bad they don't make a Stainless version, you would already have one...

:)

I would get a S&W 581 and have the barrel cut to 3" and a gold bead front sight on a 1/10" blade and have it round butted. I would then debate whether I would then have it moon clipped.

I have a rule that says that if I make the rules,I can do what I want.

I call it my AIG rule.

Keep the money, buy yourself some great times out with it.

You got more guns than the average pawn shop now.

Lucky so-so.:D

Does what he wants.
I am afraid that is the only part you got wrong. I am in a 17 year relationship and I almost never get to do what I want. That is why we are still together. :D

It is probably for the best. If I did what I want all the time I would be 500lbs and not own a darn thing because I would have spent my whole life on the couch watching Tv and eating junk food 24/7. :)

Of the guns on your list I'd pick the Sig. I've never been sorry for spending the almost $1000 I spent on my P220 ST with night sights. I don't shoot it quite as well as my Glock 21 but from a looks and quality of manufacture standpoint it inspires alot of "pride of ownership" for me anyway.

All my itches have been scratched except maybe a model 25 or 625 target gun or 3'' carry gun.

A 629, 3 inch unfluted cylinder.

Or a Les Baer Monolith with no front cocking serrations and no slide markings.:) $1000 x 2

What a country we live in!

I would vote get the Sig P220 Elite, but it happens to be one of the guns on my list of what to add to my lonely M&P 40. ;)

Head to gunshow pick up 3 used revolvers, clean them and photo them like you do; sell them on the forum. Now you got 1800.00:eek: Colt M-4 time!:D
