What if you could only own ONE handgun...

while it's not my favorite gun i would say my Glock 26 because it's the only one I have that I am comfortable concealing. if it was only for home defense I would go with my S&W 686.

4" .357 Magnum. Right now it would be a S&W M-19, but I would not feel bad with a Ruger Security or Service-Six, a S&W M-13/65/66 and a half-lugged GP-100 or a 686 Mountain Gun. But please, for the love of all that is good and holy, keep your full-underlugged, heavy-barreled, ugly monstrosities away from me (Pythons, full-lugged GP-100s, standard 686s...! :barf: I'd-take-a-Glock-instead-so-take-that!

I would go with my Glock 32. Its reliable, its powerful, and I have a Glock 23 barrel for it. Should i feel the need to shoot 40sw.:)

out of what i own right now I would choose my HK P7M8. Not a bad target or range gun, small enough to conceal, and very safe to carry.

The Firearms Research Institute of the Amazon has determined....

Hands down....It's the LeMat!

In its original design, it was a .36 or .42 caliber with a 16 ga. smoothbore under the barrel. It saw service with the armed forces of the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War of 1861–1865.

Our designers are working on an upgraded version for the civilian market of a
.45 caliber with a 12 ga. smoothbore under the barrel to see service on the streets of America. Some of the staff think that if the government takes a noise dive, a .50 cal. with a 20 mm. grenade launcher under the barrel could be a big hit with those who want that one-shot-stop capability.

If I could only have one?

Well, my favorite is a Glock 19 but, I would want a Glock 20 for the versatility. Then, the ammo availability thing would make me decide on a Glock 21 sf. I currently do not own a Glock 21 sf but, that is the one handgun I would pick if I could only have one.

But, a 12 gauge shotgun is the most versitile platform for firearms and that would be my long gun choice. Rem 870.

Can't pick one, it hurts

After much thought I just can't pick one. It comes down to a S&W model 41 but I like the heavier barreled 5", a Beretta model 86 Cheetah, and the Colt Diamondback .22. The model 41 gets the vote for the 51 shots you have with 5 mags.

In actuality I consider a .22 pistol an ultimate survival/woods gun, a couple of hundred rounds take up little space and weight and it covers a lot of things including deer to survive on. Some don't like to hear it but I've dropped a lotta deer with a .22 and used to hunt squirrels with a pistol.

My Ruger P95 or P90 can’t decide between the two. I know they are cheap and ugly to some but super uber reliable and I love the whole P series.
I don't think mine is either cheap or ugly. :)

Beautiful Gun P97. There is only one problem with it.

I couldn’t shoot it. I would not want to mess up the ornate slide and beautiful designs. Did you do the work yourself? No doubt the Ruger P90 ROCKS!!!

If I could own just one---a SIG P228 is as good a choice as any. Reasonably compact, and 13 +1.

If I could own just two or three, I might omit the middle ground, and the P228 probably wouldn't be among them.

Now--forgetting the hypotheticals, if we could only own one gun, it would have to be a revolver, since those who passed the law prohibiting the others wouldn't allow us to have semi-autos. And that wouldn't be for long, since they'd ban that, also.
