What if you could only own ONE handgun...

I`d have to pick my 4" 686. It`ll do whatever I want it to do plus it`ll shoot .38`s if needed. Additionally, ammunition should be readily available and it will complement my Marlin 1894C.

If I could only own one pistol then that would mean the U.S. has significantly changed for the worst. Perhaps time to take our country back by force or die trying.

If everyone will accept only owning one pistol, would they mind sending me their extras?

Mine aren't going to the crusher. Not that I have nearly as many as some folks do, but I use 'em all.

I'm nothing if not consistent. Every time this topic comes up my choice is the S&W 629. Mine's a 4" but if it were the only handgun I could own I'd go for the 6". Second choice would be my 6" FA 454 Casull.

S&W Model 19 4" . Can fill almost every role asked of it. Personal protection, put meat in the pot. Easily carried open or concealed.

Only one handgun ever? I suppose I'd choose my Ruger 22/45. I like shooting it, it works great, and it's cheap.

This would be my choice..

Its my favorite gun, hard to imagine anything knocking it off the top spot. Several others have picked the 686 as well, must be a good gun:D
I pick it because it fits in my hand great, shoots even nicer, and is one of the nicest looking guns there is (IMO)....perfectly reliable and smooth as butter trigger. Accuracy for me is as good as any gun I have ever picked up. S&W makes a fine revolver.

I've always tossed a pick of one of my prized 1911s, but in recent months (given the political climate), I've come to realize my most used, but not necessarily fired, gun is actually my SW j-frame 38Spl. I don't fire it all that often, but it's never left my side in the 16+ years since I've bought it.

God help us if it ever gets so bad around here, either politically or economically, that I'd only be able to own just one handgun.

My Dan Wesson Pointman Major would probably get the nod. It's not the gun I carry everyday (as I have lighter & smaller 1911's) but I shoot it the best and it was my first 1911. If the you could only own 1 gun came into effect? I'd also be looking hard to find a .22 conversion kit, so I could fire that round through it as well.;)

.357

4" N frame, M28. If I had a K frame, I might list it.

Its big, but can be loaded down with .38 WC, or loaded up for whatever.
DA allows for rapidity, speed loaders allow for a quick second 6, and the SA allows deliberate aimed fire. Revolver allows recovering brass easily.
