My favorite is the .45 ...

I voted .45 Colt but the .45 ACP ranks right up there with it.
If I didn't reload, the ACP would take first place.

Even though I carry a 9mm every day I'm gonna say...

FN 5.7 x 28.

It is a blast to shoot - shoots very flat for a pistol round, hardly any recoil, quick follow up shots, high capacity for a pistol at 20 +1, etc. Kinda reminds me of shooting a buds AMT Automag 3 back in the late 80's (.30 carbine round) but with less recoil and half the muzzle flash.

I don't think I'll ever carry it but it's a blast to shoot!

I plan on shooting it at 50, 75 and 100 yard steel as soon as we get some decent weather. I've only had it out to 25 yards indoor so far.

32 S&W long, also 357 SIG. (quite the extremes I know!)
Well heck 10mm, 357mag, 45acp, 38, 32acp, 22lr all bring me joy!
9mm is a bit snappy in the small and light carry gun I have, so not as enjoyable.

i went with .45 acp, and i dont even own it

ive shot 9 quite a bit more, as well as .44 and .357 man, but i just have so much fun shooting those 1911s. accuracy, the recoil, its all gravy baby :)

one sorta modern, other not so much

I shoot the .357 mag the most lately due to an interest in preparing to handgun hunt whitetails in IL.

Prior to that interest I was shooting in CAS a lot and my favorite was an oldy, but goody: 44-40 and a full case of BP.

>22 for the simplicity and cost

next is 38 because they are in wheel guns and brass retention is easy

same for 32 SWL

ANY autoloader/shucker comes in last for trying to find brass

i voted 38. IMO it's still one of the most versatile rounds for every day use. strong enough to get the job done on most things I'm app to run across.and just weak enough to make me slow down and make every shot count. with that being said. i still love my .45's 10mm and a few others that i own on the list.

I had to really think about this one to make just one single choice. My range trips are few and far between for various reasons, so when I do go I tend to bring as wide an assortment as possible. After really thinking it through and weighing all the options between the 6 calibers on the list that I have firearms chambered in, I find myself deriving the most genuine pleasure from shooting .38 special from a heavy-ish revolver designed for .357s like a 6" L or N Frame.
