What current production Revolver would you get?

O.K. . . . I'll be the "odd guy" . . . :D

You did say current production . . . .

The next one on my "list" is a Uberti SA 1872 Colt open top 4 3/4" barrel in 38 Colt Long / 38 Spl . . . . (a Colt copy) . . . what can I say . . . I just like old revolvers even if they are new . . . . . .

Okay, current production...a 3" GP100 .357 (there are some NIB 38 Specials around). My GP 100 is too long to comfortably carry, so I opt for my 4" Security Six. The 3" would be more comfortable sitting, and I believe I could handle the recoil of the gun with shorter barrel, although I doubt I would shoot it much as "fun".

4" stainless steel Ruger GP100 model KGP-141.
I agree with WESHOOT2

These revolvers are the benchmark for the tank division.

Picked this one up last year and could not be happier. I have a 681 and the GP has the smoother trigger. I think that Ruger has been making their triggers a little smoother lately (or I just got lucky?).
Now I need the 6" version.

8 rounds of 357 magnum is pretty formidable. Moon Clips for faster loading but can work without them.

S&W 627 Pro

The "new" S&W M66, when they come out with the 3 inch barrel version. Or, 2.5 inch, I'm easy.
Probably the same for the M69, in snub.

Best,

Smith & Wesson model 66 38 spl/357 mag. with 6 in barrel.
If that one is not in stock a S&W model 67 38 spcl would do nicely.
K- frames are nice.

I see where S&W is making a 5 shot 44 magnum on a K frame...interesting!

If it can be something I already have - a (4") 627 Pro.

For something I want - for no reason - or perceived need - a non-comped 4"/5" 500.

OoOoOo!!

A tough one.

Well, with these threads I always let a bit of realism in through the door. So I have to stick to what I could realistically afford.

So I'd have to hoose something to replace my little carry revolver.

There was an unfluted Rossi .44Spl in a thread recently. That would be nice but I'd never find one, so I think I'd either get a 3" GP100 or an SP101.
Of the two the SP would make the better carry gun and are supposed to be plenty tough too as I'd probably pack .38 +p at the most. I'd miss the 6th round though.

I'm jonesin for a S&W 638. I bought the 442 thinking that it was what I wanted but later realized that I really need the 638 instead.
