What caliber was your first handgun??

S&W M&P .40 - Hers

Glock 22 .40 - Mine

S&W 686 + .357 - Ours

Bought all of them at the same time :D

Still have all 3 :D

My first hand gun was a Model 1861 colt navy. When I was old enough to buy modern guns I got a S&W model 10, and High Standard Citation match the same day.

Grew up with guns, shot and "had the use of" several, pistol and revolver, for years. After leaving the service and moving away from home, the first one I bought for myself was a Browning BDA .45ACP.

The second one (and first revolver) was a Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt/.45ACP convertable. Bought it with the intention of shooting my ACP ammo without having to scrounge in the weeds for the brass. Fell in love with the .45 Colt for its own self, and in nearly 30 years, have only put a few hundred ACP rounds through it. Still my favorite "recreational" revolver.

Since then, I have averaged between one and three per year. I'm beginning to run out of handguns I'm interested in.

Colt 1909 .45LC.It was my GGrandpa's and he carried it as a Sheriff,Revenuer, and moonshiner in Tennessee.I guess they were complicated times back then.

First handgun was the one I was issued while in service. An old Beretta 34.
First personal gun, a Jericho 9mm

My first handgun was a Springfield Omega Match in 10mm, gifted to me by my father when I turned 21. It was a favorite of mine from his collection, and he didn't care to shoot it all that often, so gave it to me when I turned old enough have my own.

Shortly thereafter, I bought a .45ACP Taurus 24/7 Pro. Nice enough gun, only problems I had with it were in regards to certain ammo I tried to run through it. I eventually sold it, though.

My first revolver, second handgun purchase, was a Uberti Cattleman in .45LC. Still have it, and love to shoot it when I can scrounge up ammo at a decent cost.

Ruger P89 9mm

I could shoot it really fast and I thought that was cool. But as I got older my interest in seeing how fast I could empty a magazine wained and I bought larger calibers.

In 1966 a Browning Hi-Power 9mm as my Navy service carry. I still have the pistol packed away, but haven't shot in 20+ years.
