Wal-Mart here had a selection of .22 LR, a few Federal bulk packs, a lot of CCI Velocitor, and Blazer .22LR. I had never shot any Blazer before so I bought a box of 50. Plenty of 9mm, .45, and even a little bit of WWB .380.

Primers are steady in the bigger towns. Powder hit and miss for pistol and shotgun. Lots of rifle powder in stock and I believe that is because .223 ammo is overflowing the shelves, and starting to go on sale here and there.

10 cents a round is what I think it will settle down to. I hope not but I got a feeling that is what will happen when this crap is over.
Uh no!

Where the heck have you been buying your ammo? 525 boxes of 22lr can be had regularly between $20-$30 a box. If you're paying more than that then you're the one to blame for keeping the price around 10 cents a round.

I was paying .03 per round before the panic and haven't paid more than .05 per round during. So I don't know where you guys are buying your ammo but I'd suggest you get it somewhere else. There's no need to pay .10 or more per round.

I would dearly love to know where you are getting .22 for those prices.

Ammoseek and gunbot, are both starting at .16/rnd for 22lr. Cheaperthandirt STARTS at .36/rnd and Cabelas doesn't have any.

I don't know if this is a widespread problem, but I do know that one of our local dealers who is a complete dirtbag sends several of his cronies in to Walmart to line up and buy the ammo, then resells it at a tremendous markup.

The Outpost Armory, in Christiana, TN, has 1400 round kegs of Remington 22LR for $79.99. It's not something I shoot often, so I did not buy any. Still no pistol powder , except for a small quantity of Blue Dot.

Local Walmarts and a store in Ohio I visit when I'm passing through called Fin Feather Fur. Last time I was there, they're shelves were full of 22lr bulk packs for $29.99. I thought the price was too high so I passed on it. Another store called Hunters Den had winchester 333 boxes for $18.

It's not rocket science people. Refuse to pay inflated prices, shop around, only buy when you see a real deal, and the prices will come back down.

None of the deals I regularly find have been on those sites plus I don't buy my ammo off the Internet. S&H will ruin any "deals", (if you can call them that), you'll find. I buy everything locally or I'll check out stores while traveling but I never pay panic prices. Everything I've bought has been at or below pre-panic prices.

I know a few local dealers that brag about doing that. The smart people buy their ammo elsewhere but they do take advantage of the less educated. Remeber, they can't sell it unless someone is wiling to over pay for it.;)

Stopped by Walmart. They had several 100 round boxes of 9mm 115 gr for $24 and 100 round boxes of 45acp for $39.

Looks like the shortage is over for 223, 9mm, and 45acp, I can find them everywhere I go and at pre-panic prices.

Now if I could just find some .308 and 45 Colt at a reasonable price. I can find it, I just can't find it at a price I'm willing to pay.

I'm a little behind so forgive me if it's already been mentioned. Walmart is letting up on their three-box limit. Our local Walmart has dropped the limit except for .22LR.

10mm/40cal bullets missing in action...

Have visited all my local (within 30 mile radius) gun/supply shops here near Altoona PA. (right in the center of PA).

None of the shops have any 40cal/10mm bullets for reloading purposes. Boxes of ammo, tons of, but no actual bullets.

Anyone else notice these are missing in your locality???

Staff,
Wasn't sure where to place this. Please feel free to place where you find appropriate.

Montana Bullet Company online has some, a few different gr's. I went to their web site to check before posting. I haven't used but have heard nothing but good about them.

There is a reloading section in the forums that can be really handy for reloading questions if you haven't checked it out before.

Maybe that's what you're after

Unfortunately, such is the case for many reloading supplies right now. I frequently check midway/natchezss/brownells, for what I need, other than that just hope to get lucky.

*never thought I'd see an altoid on the forums, lol*. I lived in Altoona for a couple years.

If a person shoots lead cast in their pistol a good place online is Missouri Bullet,I get all my .40 and 9mm,not to mention my .41 mag bullets from them. They have been good quality with fair prices.

Local Fleet Farm (Twin Cities MN) had (some) .22LR on the shelves and no rioting!!!

They had a one box limit but this is what they had:

Winchester .22LR 36 grain hollow point (copper washed)
222 round box $10
333 round box $15

Sierra .224 Blitz Kings nonexistant

I have back ordered 500 bullets in the 40 gr. Blitz King and it seems they will never become reality. Today I stopped at a gun shop that is out of the way for me, and they actually had a few boxes in stock. I got two hundred of them little boogers. My old 22-250 loves these things best of anything she has eaten over the years.

The local Sportsmans Warehouse (Loveland, Colorado) has been getting more powders lately---they had a bunch the other day. They also had quite a few primers---either Remington or Winchester. Brass has been like hen's teeth for a year. None showing up yet.

The online vendors have just not been showing inventory. It is depressing to check 10 vendors daily and nothing shows up---for damn near a year.

Anyway! Maybe we are getting to the end of this craziness.

I think that the shortages will persist until about November 2016 and then start to truly ease. Here in Rockford, IL it is still almost impossible to find 22LR. Occasionally I have found 40S&W and 45acp at Walmart, but not generally. For 380acp and 38Special I have usually been able to get them at GAT in Elgin, IL. For the future when I get around to trying to re-load I am building up a nice collection of brass.

Went on to my local wally world and they had 50bmg ammo for 37.50. That's one I would have never thought to see. Must be trying to get something on the shelves.

In MN wlmart has taken off their 3 box limit on all but 22's. You can find 40 or 45 all day long even 9's are in a lot more. Even 22's are coming in quicker but gone just as fast.

Haven't seen these for a long time!!!

Haven't seen 22 shorts for ages even before the ammo shortage happened. Today at the local hardware store they had CCI shorts. 100 rounds for 9 bucks and limit of two per purchase. So I bought my two. What a treat!!! Yeah, I know nine cents a shot for shorts, but that's the way it is right now.

Live well and be safe

A local store tried selling shorts for $6/50, no limit. They had trouble selling them. I think it took them a couple months to move them. They haven't had any since and I heard a customer ask if they were going to get anything like that again and the clerk said he doubted it since they were so hard to sell. Don't remember the brand.

Height if the shortage last summer, all I could find were shorts, and they were at Wally-World...

Looking all lonely in that big empty locked case...

So I took home 3 boxes, and the wife took her three...

$3.50/50

My Winchester 1906 thanked me...
