While I agree with Marine that "What is you life worth" is offensive to some people, it's not that big of deal. No matter what you say, someone is going to be offended by it. This whole thread is just another example of Politically Correctness; someone doesn't like how something is said, so they try to get everyone else to change it. Be it right or wrong, this is the internet and if you are easily offended you are probably in the wrong place.
At best, "What is your life worth" is someone trying to justify their expensive gun, at worst, they're telling someone to buy a more expensive gun which is still usually a quality gun. This is why people come to forums anyway, for differing opinions. If you can't sort out the well informed responses from the junk, forums aren't the place for you to be asking questions. To those that are complaining about "What is you life worth" think of it as an easy way to tell whose advice you should be avoiding in the future. Good, informed advice can be much better worded.
