Serial Number - ALW89xx
The .455 Mark II Hand Ejector 2nd Models were made for British and Canadian service. Serial Numbers ran from ~5000 in 1915 to 74755 in 1917.I just purchased a 2nd Model Hand Ejector in .455 (cylinder shaved to .45). Serial #326XX. Any date? Also has multiple proofmarks, mostly a circle topped with a crown enclosing various pairs of letters: BV, BP and NB. Any info?
1968.It's a police trade in I believe. On the backstrap it is stamped "MPDC". It has a round butt, a 4 inch tapered barrel with a five digit serial # D31xxx.
1986/87.I've had my 681 a long time. But,I don't know it's dob. Any help?
AHU4XXX.
Model 18 K4332xx = 1961.I recently picked up a couple older S&W revolvers and I'd like to know when they were manufactured.
Model 18 K4332xx
Model 57 S2494xx
Is it a 5 shot or 6? And take the serial number from the bottom of the frames grip butt.38 S&W Special Ctg is stamped on the right side of the barrel. I found the same serial number in all 3 places talked about but am confused because there is no letter designation exept for in the barrel cutout there is a B to the far left of the serial number 48xxx, thanks in advance for your replies.
1951.I have read the K was not added to the serial number until after 1946 and this is one of the guns my dad saved from the burning log cabin a year after he was in Korea so I'm thinking 1946 to 1955.
On the butt it says K 127###
