Short List Of American Made

Yes it appears they do make 1911 pattern semi's as well. I will add that to the list. Thanks.

Their SA revolver that uses .45ACP without moon clips is neat. They just space off the case just like when in a 1911 barrel. I guess they can do this because they have the ejector rod that punches the cases out.

"rifles and shotguns are on the list but mainly handguns"

That was on post #1 and referred to the fact that the original starting list did have some rifles listed, but It was stated many times after that that we would limit to handguns.

I need help on that one. I cannot find verification either way.

Rock river no longer makes pistols either????????????????

It appears they do make custom 1911's. I found that jsut recently on their web site, but I can look again.

I believe that Coonan Arms .357 autos were made in the U.S. They have been out of production but I understand that Dan Coonan is positioning himself to start manufacturing again.

OK, but I think they should start again to be on the list. I hope the do, the more the better.:)

This is the way the orginal sentence was on post#1.
Rifles & shotguns are on the list but I am mainly talking about handguns.

again in post #12
As stated in my OP I was just trying to limit to handguns.

Not this
"rifles and shotguns are on the list but mainly handguns" (not my quote)

Rock River Removed..again

Buckmark

I can find the Buckmark on the Browning web site with no problem. And yes it says Morgan Utah. I think the guns do say made in USA, but that can happen even when made from pre-machined parts. I still cannot find any data that says Buckmark's are completely made at the Utah facility. That means machining all the major components from raw material.

According to the *2007* Gun Digest, here are some more possible inclusions. Don't know if these are still in production, but the book definitely states "Made in USA".

Not in the the book but a locally manufactured (Western WA) handgun was the Alchemy Arms Spectre, which is a sort of melding between a 1911 and a Glock. I don't know that this handgun is still in production though.

Also, regarding Beretta, 2007 Gun Digest seems to think pretty much the entire Beretta line-up is American made (don't know their definition of "American made").

Accu-Tek (AT-380 II)

Enterprise (1911s)

Excel Arms (rimfire magnums)

Olympics Arms (1911s and OA-93/98 AR pistol)

Wilkinson Arms (Sherry & Linda mouse guns)

Magnum Research BFR (big bore SA revolver)

E.A. Brown (Classic Single Shot Pistol)

Sub MOA, That's the problem...at least for this list. I worked all my life for large in manufacturing companies, and I know the American made stamp does not mean all the components are made in America. It's does meet legal standards for a plant to do complete assemble using some major parts made outside the USA and then say it is "made in America". But our rules for this list are more strict.

I think Beretta makes their main components such as slides in their European plants. Yes they have a USA plant, but they never say they do complete machining at that plant.

I will check on the others you list. Thanks.

Accu-Tek (AT-380 II) & Excel look good, but I think they are the same company. So I will list under the Excel name..they appear to be the parent co.

Enterprise (1911s), not finding anything.

Still checking the others.

Olympics Arms yes for custom 1911's.

Wilkinson Arms (Sherry & Linda mouse guns) Not finding much.

Magnum Research, yes.

E.A. Brown (Classic Single Shot Pistol) They look to be a distributor and make some parts. Still looking. Still not seeing where they make complete handguns on site.
