Road Trip Carry Gun? What's yours?

I usually carry my Glock 26 on road trips. It is small but still hold 10 rounds of ammo. I usually keep at least one spare mag handy. I used to carry more than one gun, but I feel they are safer locked up at home. What do you guys do if you have to travel through highly restrictive states such as New York or Washington DC? I have had to do so before on my way up to Ohio from Florida. I checked the reciprocity laws for Florida carry permits, and there are a few states that don't recognize Florida's permit. For NY and DC, I disassembled the gun and stored the parts in different places. I'm not sure that makes it legal, but I wasn't about to drive another 10 hours out of the way.

Just my normal carry gun, I usually stick it between my seat and center console, easier to get to then iwb.

Its a taurus 24/7 compact in .45

If I was to drive across WA to visit my mom in Idaho, I'd probably throw the 12 guage in the trunk.

Not just for extra protection, but they got all sorts of Critters over there and her and her husband live on a very large plot of land ;)

Kahr PM9 or my Seecamp .32

I can't pocket carry my G27 and when traveling only want to pocket carry. I imagine an LCP or other .380 would work too but I don't have one. I used to have a S&W Mod 38 snubbie but it is not as concealable as the PM9.

Armsmaster, why do you leave the stickers on the crimson trace revo? I can tell you are the genuine article. I have seen this before and I am curious. I also like the fact that it is obvious you actually use your weapons and don't pet them.

Off the road trip / vacation. Back to my XD45. Missing my 1911 at the custom shop though ;)

I think I'm taking one of those 2 on my next road trip. Good times. The G27 was extremely comfortable though.

Long run with guns

WE drove from Texas to Ft. Myers, FL and back in a motor home. I carried a Taurus PT-111 IWB and the Sigma 9 stayed in the back. We had over fifty rounds, just in case. All concealed, all legal and no problems.

Will Beararms: the stickers are there because they haven't worn off yet. As you noticed I have no safe queens all my guns are shooting guns even my Sac P.D. 586 6" Commemerative W/ Bill Davis Combat Tune.

Either my P2000 or EMP both in .40S&W. I have grown a little fond or my Bodyguard .38spl but only as a gas station runner.

If I'm not a gunner than you're not a person that belongs on "The View" or the "Food Network" maybe even "Disney Channel"

What does this mean? You think I wouldnt be OK on teh food network? I do cook a lot, I did watch the mickey mouse club in early 60s but what is the view? I dont watch TV much, work most of the time in North Omaha. We have shootings weekly here but we have a police force that is armed.

Years ago I was shot in teh back, left shoulder. I am cynical as far as weapons go. Lucky he didnt kill me. It hurt real bad, I was off work over a year. Had another guy empty his 25 at me as I was leaving the business. Didnt get hit then. I was also stabbed in teh neck with a sharp knife, almost bled out there. I am here tho and still kicking.

So tell me about your real life expir? I would be happy to have a drink (non alchohol) and talk about guns. The group I hang with are mostly marines, all have combat exp. My nephew will be joining us as he is out of afgan/iraq and soon to be a non combat marine. He will always be a Marine as the others are. He had the pleasure of using a M60 on a convoy of bad guys.

Those are gun people. People that have used a gun to survive. Anyone else is just talking about it.

I didnt carry when I worked in a job Iflew around the country, wasnt allowed on the plane. I survived tho without a gun.

I have almost a million miles on a motorcycle so far too, documented miles.

markj, I don't see you as a cool guy as you wish I did. You're just there man.

Not going to have a pi**ing contest with you either.

Nor do I believe anything you have said or will say. So you can save the stories.

If I have 1,000 times more experience than you what's there to do to prove it? Nothing...so please, online pi**ing contests are for 10 year olds.

I'd like to go on speaking about guns please. Thank you.

EDIT: wow didn't read the second half from my phone. Seriously, nothing you're saying is relevant to me or this topic or matter to my life in any way.

Write a book if all that is "true" why come onto a forum and expect to be praised in awe?

I'll join...I'm in NASA space missions and the TV show "sons of anarchy" is based on my life.

I don't carry a gun anywhere...I have an autographed picture of Chuck Norris signed, "...to my personal friend..." that I just show anyone who causes me trouble...the run like hell after seeing that. :D

Seriously, though, when traveling in states I'm legal to carry, I take either a Sig P239 in .40 or Kahr CW45, with my LCP in my front pocket.

Everyone has an LCP, I'm thinking about getting one...it'll be way out of my comfort zone though.

I'm just trying to see..if people carry mostly on their person all the time or in a case or something of the sort.

Always on my person.

Jack Bauer's almost the new chuck Norris.
