ONLY POLICE AND GOV'T AGENTS ALLOWED TO HAVE 'EM.
Maybe some states will let people have Concealed Cellphone Permits!
But they gotta be registered - serial number, frequencies, etc.
Limit them to 10 frequencies.
Any more than 10 frequencies = ASSAULT CELLPHONE!
BAN these tiny little pocket jobs - they're Saturday night specials.
Seriously guys and gals,
If they really went after cellphones like in the above description
maybe, just maybe, they'd see the same arguments FOR cellphones
also apply to handguns. They both can be used in emergencies
to protect oneself and one's friends, relatives and seatmates.

A few minutes ago as I was packing to leave school, CNN reported on a possible reason for the crash in Pennsylvania. One of the passengers, I believe the name they gave was Jeremy Glick but that's probably wrong, managed to call his family from the plane after it was hijacked. The family patched in 911 operators for some kind of conference call. The operators informed everyone that two planes had already been crashed into the WTC towers.
Glick went off the line and when he came back told them he had taken a vote among the male passengers. They voted unanimously to try to take over the plane from the terrorists. They hung up and the next information anyone has is the crash. Did they crash the plane by fighting with the terrorist pilot? Did they take over the cockpit but fear it would be retaken, so that someone decided to crash in a field before that could happen? Was the crash totally unrelated? Nobody knows yet. But we should all, for the moment, assume that Glick and those other passengers are American heroes who saved a lot of lives.

Fox News reported a little while ago that the New York Port Authority is estimating 20,000 fatalities. That's not a typo.

My God.
That's more than twice the population of my entire hometown. I can hardly fathom that sort of death and destruction.
I also understand that many recruiting stations had lines out the door today. The sleeping giant may well be on its way out of the rack.

What I heard on Fox:
20,000 in the buildings. Another 10,000 in the mall underneath.
Total = 30,000.
If true, that's more than half the fatalities of Vietnam, which lasted for what, nine years? Half that figure in one day.
BTW, the A-bomb killed how many, 30,000? So, this was the equivalent of a nuclear weapon. I can't help but think that our response should be on the same scale, or larger.

The two A-bombs we dropped on Japan killed a total very near 200,000 people (115K in Nagasaki and about 75K in Hiroshima).
But it is pretty poignant to note that the number of fatalities here will run to half the total of the number of casualties in Viet Nam. My dad served over there in the USMC.

If someone has to fly an airplane into a New York City skyscraper, why couldn't it have been the U.N. building ?

If the death toll really IS around 30,000 we'll have nearly suffered the death toll of the Korean War, in one day, all civilians.
